And he was
Goodbye dear friend, Thunderheart. Your last months were unattractive, arthritis and little joy. Oh, but the joy you brought to others. You went camping, cooking, with girlscouts, boyscouts -- walking with others, defending them too. Your Halloween costume was never the same year to year. You put up with being used as a pillow, dress up doll ... makeup and nails painted. You got treats and handfed when a puppy and as an old man. You up and left to wander home -- walking at least 60 miles, foolish boy!
You were as much family as any, though Mom intermittantly let you have control of furniture. You barked at dogs, never acknowledging yourself as one. You let birds fly around you and ate spiders. Sweet boy, I'm sorry you died alone. You shouldn't and couldn't have lived forever, but you broke hearts when you died.
Bark in heaven ... your new home!
....
Join all your bretheren; the meek, mild, small, and the wild. I know others proceeded you, others will follow. I've never allowed much of my grief an avenue, or opened the dam. I think soon -- my buried losses shall walk (Day of the Dead) coming back and I shall mourn.
In Thunder's passing, I reminded all too well that I don't vent when I should ... for others I have not fully grieved. I think I'm about all stocked up on sorrow.
+ from Talking Heads, "And She Was" a lighthearted song when I need levity.

anime review
Princess Mononoke is a mildly violent with some especially violent, yet second-blip visuals. The overall theme of peace and harmony with nature, after the 2.25 hours of film is generally lost on the viewer. The action scenes are well placed, but the long-winded artistic scenes are too frequent. In general, I would not let a child under 11 watch this with me. I would not let a child 11-13 watch this without me. I think, while visually stunning and designed for theater viewing, older kids would not be very entertained by it. As an adult, the temp needed to be picked up also. I think, overall, I would rank it 5.3 with scene re-watchability only.
Castle in the Sky was packed with more slapstick and more humor, though lacked kindness in many respects. The comic relief and would-be sidekicks of the protagonists are pirates; a dubious choice at best. "What is Milton trying to say; that being evil is more fun?"+ The visuals are stunning with early 80s feel mixed with 90s Poke'mon antics and highflying (also Love Hina). The message of compassion is more fluid and the evil is truly evil, with evil men dying -- bloodlessly. I guess ... if a person were to let their child watch Poke'mon, this wouldn't be too far a cry from there, with the notable exception that people die in this cartoon. The sound is so-so and the tempo is better than Princess Mononoke, but still slow. Since this was the second time I watched it (first time in bits), I would say that it has limited re-watchability with an overall ranking of 6.1 (the Japanese sound and sync much better than English).

You don't see us waging
Ramadan prayers
Evening prayer will be conducted nightly at 9 p.m. at the Islamic Center of [this city], [some city block] St., during the month of Ramadan. A time of fasting, worship and discipline recognized by more than 1 billion Muslims worldwide annually, Ramadan began at sundown Friday. Muslims believe that during Ramadan, the ninth month on the lunar calendar, Allah revealed the first verses of the Quran, the holy book of Islam.
....
Gosh, let me decide if I should be offended, then riot and burn down the place. Oh, wait ... no, I'll not do that. Dear city Muslims, please try hard to convince the extremists to stop killing. Eventually it will come back upon you, those who aren't the slaughterers.

Upswell then the downswing
There was a surge in my spam (collected both in suspect folder and known spam). It seems that the Moon is on the other side and has thankfully pulled the flow of crapmail away. Unlike the crapmail that I used to get via US Post. I called the 888 number to be taken off the list for junk credit card offers and my mail has dropped substantially. That is great news. Now, if they would just end it, the US could more than half its paper usage. Personally, I read the news, national, international and local online -- only. No trees were killed to make paper for me to read the news.

(not quite Victor-y) Hugo
While some exteme people might call for a name change of Hugo Shove-azz (as in shove up his ass), he nonetheless has a brilliant speech writer. I read his Sept. 16th speech then the "devil" Sept 20th speech. While calling Bush the devil is, well, not politically correct, I think much of the speech was lost on those who expect "highlights" to be spoonfed to them.
He spent some of the main speech on declaring America (US) as imerialistic and truly that's what we exhibit. For decades the US has been viewd as the modern imperialists using economy rather than warfare to control, dominate, acquire. Appearances are important. Whereas Venezuela is less global though has a strong voice in oil prices. Some of the tangents were angst against the US.
Actually, his speech smacks of the speeches given by the US, declaring evil where "seen" and remarking countries as Axis of Evil ... truly no less inflamitory than "devil" spoken of Bush. Chavez merely chose the current President -- regardless of party or person. The US is a difficult country with whom to negotiate, Chavez made it difficult to understand the underlying point.
His domestic topics were more valuable, in that he noted still-present evil and those who escaped justice and tried to have him killed. Still others are holding him "caged" as it were. It naming them, while he is in power, shields himself more. He undoubtedly feels now safe from reprisal. In calling the biggest bully on the street a bad name, then shielding himself -- it's either a bluff or a dare. I would regard it as both.
The IN being moved somewhere else -- fine by me! Move it and the US can bow out of that bunch of money-grubbing persons calling for peace, war sanctions and troops, while denying graft and foulness within it self. There are still UN Peacekeepers extorting and buying sex from persons more especially underage children in exchange for the food that the areas are supposed to get for free.
The UN, as it is right now, can leave. Heck, put that thing in Iraq for all I care! If the UN would ever represent the values to which it calls, then -- Japan or the US would be the better choice as they've had stabler and more competent government; sorry Germany. I wouldn't push that on Britain as it would be regarded as a downgrade, like Howard Johnson's hotel instead of the Hilton Grand Resort. The UK has long been viewed as a puppet or shadow of the US, sad for them to be regarded as such -- lacking definition from the US, whereas the two nations are quite opposed on many things.
Chavez was right ... the US looks like a big bully and he wasn't the only one to call the US that. It's a darn shame that he is now going to gouge the US for oil prices because we demanded more oil ... no pay change, which we probably did. A better deal for the US is to get off the barstool and find a new energy source. We've had decades to do it!
The 70's oil embargo was a big hint to get out of oil, but we didn't do it. Kuwait again showed -- get out of oil, but we didn't do it. I say that the government make a play now and find a real energy source and we can stop trade with all of OPEC. That should be the lesson learned, not childishly banning Venuzuela, "he hurt my feelings". Just take the punch and move on. You just walk away, being not the bully, but the honorable (gaining respect through restraint).

Iranq
Iraq + Iran = larger madness. I believe in 2000 I mentioned this trend, now it's coming together. Iranq, now hate is twice the size. To counter this, CIA has methods of gaining information. Some persons put together a list of don'ts that include typical military training challenges: loud noises (live fire traing, ever hear of that), extrmeme temperatures (typical), poor quality food, etc. Those are NOT torture. They are difficult, uncomfortable, sometime nasty when combined, but not torture. Ask a bum on the street, jobless, hungry/starving s/he suffers from loud noises, discomfort, extreme temperatures and weather, sleep deprivation. What? You say street "sleepers" suffer all of those things, yet no jerkwater lawyer is suing the federal government for letting it happen? How outrageous!
CIA: if you need to have torture defined to you -- step away. Electrical burning or high voltage use, 3rd degree burning, organ dysfunction, that sort of thing is bad. The whining from people about the living hell in Guantanamo sickens me, as the detainees are treated far more humanely than their American counterparts.
Back to Iranq, where there is no word by the Ayatollah sheik, speaking the words of Allah according to Garp, er, uh, I mean Mohammad. Remember women, respect the cattle, for you are below them. There is but one call, kill all non-Muslims; through peace and glory of Allah we shall vanquish enemies mercifully raping and killing infidels just like it says here in the book.
A larger hate-the-US-and-Western-civilization country, isn't really what the world needs. I do fear that for a short time, Iranq will exist, then split apart as it's based on hate and conquering. I guess they didn't allow people to study the history of Europe, eh?

hentai
of course it's aberant sexual practices, but applied to many "unworthy" things. I looked on the net for Wnnie the Pooh. Hentai was attached to Winnie, but how? When did Disney decide to go the "extra mile" and put Pooh in the forefront of nasty porn? Oh wait, some jerk did that. I see. Rubber chickens hentai? Are they mad ... I guess so. It's sure to get some people to go to your site, for sick reasons mixed with ill intentions. I'm gonna ask, no demand, "cut it out"!

Talents might be used later
From Smoking Gun, there's a crew that might use their apparel and mannurisms to good use in jail and prison. Hey! Is that a stolen item you got up there? I guess the cellmates were just that, cellmates. I wonder what kind of attractive areas there are in Kentucky for the likes of them. I'm happy they were caught, hopefully they were put into jail with their stolen goods (clothes) for interesting themes in county jail. I think there will be more than stolen kisses there.

Again waiting
for Society to get so ticked off with judicial system that they call for execution of the plainfully guilty. John Karr might be "scott free" to molest and dream of killing again. They misplaced the computer for evidence which may allow his sorry butt to be lose on the streets. Now, some might react to the police for misplacing it, but I put the blame on a society where they would ALLOW parole or life to an individual who openly molests children, keeps child porn and talks about killing kids. Why in the world would you stand up and defend him? If anyone wants that piece of crap alive, then THEY, and THEY alone pay for his existence. I'd just either dump him off in the center of Mojave cuffs and all or outright shoot him then and there. I dare you to come back to life!
I'm just wondering when society will have its fill of the "let him go" on technicalities. Allowing him to wander free is a VERY BAD precident for other molesters and keepers of child porn. Without a market, things die. If there wasn't a market for child porn, there wouldn't be any available. The world should take a small pox approach to this global problem. Within 2 decades, that disease was all but removed from the planet.

Fatso to Snake (on B.C. comics by Johnny Hart)
I was looking for Halloween music for kids and my search was, "Trick or Treat". I got the usual this, that, and the other thing, but little that I wanted or knew existed. I did see the listing of, "Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13; story of Trick or Treat Pete". What is the heck is that? What's it doing there? Why would ANYONE be looking for it? Why was it made?
No, no. I really don't want answers. Just like the guy who dragged a woman to death, leaving a mile-long bloody trail on the road -- victim dying of asphyxia/strangulation rather than blood loss. I guess it was better to die that way than by the dragging. Would I ask the guy a lot of questions, no. I'd walk him to the scene of the crime and add another body, his. This then would end the process. Could there be a doubt that he is guilty, no.
Like Fatso, I'd aggressively hunt down the snake and bash it apart with my club -- not neanderthal but primative human extinguishing the thing with extreme prejudice. Please, don't infect the young, that's what I'm asking here. The adult welcome their own misery, but the young shouldn't have it forced upon them. The "song" itself sounds almost fun, if you don't know what a drag queen is.

Alpha Bravo Charlie
Monkeyjack called me, since we have not spoken for weeks now -- not hostile, just never called each other. Anyway, he and his family are over their illness, though his wife was again mildly ill with something else. More to the point, Charlie, his son, wanted to talk with Uncle [me]. There was enough background noise that we were about talking in a concert. Conversation was a challenge, but nice. I tried prompting him, but got only mild feedback.
At one point in time, the pauses were as classes; long and seemingly pointless. Ah, I reasoned, they were home and good friend TV cartoons ensnared hiim. I was a nuisance thereafter. Monkeyjack eventually interceeded and got the phone back. We bade goodbye. What I did find out, while Monkeyjack hasn't had time to bloody well do much, is that his business seems to be fine ... he's marrying again (this time to company) and that a "beloved" large fish passed away.
He declared on the mountaintop that he was not bowling this year! He regarded the cost and payout (end of league and entertainment value - cost of going and eating and drinking) were not worth it. He considered, within a year or more to join a macho-competitve league that offered more challenge than "candy-ass" as he called it.
I won't bowl -- I won't do it.

Neighbor chat
While one couple of neighbors generally are aloof, their children are more outgoing. The daughter grins and laughs bunches, but rarely speaks with me. Yesterday was an exception. She completed, what might be considered a paragraph. It was after I was her audience on her wonderful bicycling back and forth down the street. She's young and not allowed to travel far -- thankfully set limits by rational parents not sending their child to areas to-be-abducted. Since I had a one-sided conversation with her while she rode, she obliged me a short happy-thoughts session before going in with mommy and brother for hot chocolate. She said bye and waved happily to me. I could see in her eye and actions that, while mommy put away the bike, that she wanted to do a cartwheel on the front lawn. That'd be great since, she's four.

It came upon a midnight clear.
MR spoke with me briefly about a person (special) recently diagnosed with a sleeping disorder. While I won't go into any other details there, I'll now type about ME!
In a loom of dreariness, I thought, maybe, just perhaps, sleep means a little bit more+. I wonder if my poor sleep patterns and restlessness might indeed be short-lived sleep disorder. I have tried chemistry only to find disappointment. I know that stress -- ever-lurking is a great satan (advesary) to my rest. Sans job, stress isn't packing up and leaving anytime soon. I have been resting more lately -- quality. I think the sleep has helped me reason a bit better and type in a ... dare I say, legible, readable manner. If only I were in control.

not-so Fantastic Four (adult themed content)
For background, not nearly as crass Randal, I worked at a video store for a while. The store, owners changing thrice, had a porn section for years. The funny thing there was the range of creative titles, though doubtless stupid films in all. There was Who Reamed Rosie Rabbit, When Harry Ate Sally (this was acutally at another store, but applies), Edward Penishands, and others. I think you understand the segue between hollywood releases and the $9 productions+.
I couldn't immediately sleep last night and thought -- Jessica Alba hottie (until she applies make up, then looking like Bozo -- yuck!) in Fantastic Four. That movie stank! I then, in my near-REM mind thought, hey! Well, it didn't stop at hey, but then rude Fastastic Four (some). The one and only woman has two powers -- invisibility and force fields (telekinetically-based). Why would she need to be invisible, because of course she's the only female! She's hiding from the three super powered horny bastards. In the porn industry, incest isn't tabboo, but in my thinking -- inarguably criminal and sinful. I therefore, extinguished the incest factor of brother and sister.
Anyway, you could quickly put together in your creative mind, if you have one, the powers of "The Thing", Johnny "The Human Torch (he's hot?)", and a man who can stretch any and all parts of his body. The more subvertive, maniacal writer might exchange powers between roles, making one man invisible capable of force fields, then the woman capable of stretching (engulfing) any body part, or any other combination.
I don't rent movies, other than from the library and from Netflix (for the folks, as they like British murder mysteries). I therefore, haven't been in a place to see the new-handsome titles of the adult-film industry. This does, however remind me that in my weak attempt to acquire a version++ of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, I was surprised that the familiar 20th Century Fox logo was missing. I skipped to the one-third or halfway mark to see -- WHOA!
Those aren't Sith, nor stormtroopers, nor Jedi, nor anything of the kind. There was, I guess, sickening force. Why would someone re-label porn? It wouldn't be likely that some person would look for Revenge of the Sith in a secretive way of finding new porn with a "college" setting; not a lick of space scene it in.
What I did see in the 2 minutes of FasForward+++ that I did see before using the Death Star's "cleaning" method were really sick sexual practices. I dare say that I would truly wonder about a woman who favored some of what I viewed. Gosh -- that sure does turn me on, a threesome or foursome--one woman and more mess and gore than end-of-shift KFC kitchen cleaning. It will take a bit of time to clear it from my mind. I did type that I did watch 2 minutes out of curiosity, but gross it was. It was a bad call!
+ porns, from the video store I worked so long ago, cost the company $9 each, yielding profit beginning with the 4th rental.
++ no other details will be given
+++ I watched all of Matrix III; which was worse than Matrix one, which I DESPISED, in FF. Look, it's not like the dialogue kept you on edge, gripped with suspense or academy award winning, nor pinocchio metamorphosis from carboard to three-dimensional living being. There were cutout doll actors in a failed sock puppet play.

I never knew such a critter existed
If you are traveling about and have your furry companion(s) with you, then you probably want to know where you can stay. I found this, in a daft attempt to find something different. I was trying to find the animal resort, where the animals are the ONLY guests. In some places they have, not only deluxe accomodations, but also TV. I'm sure sure how large of areas each are given, and truly some non-den animals would rebel and reject such offers. Other animals -- crate trained, typically respond better, especially when they are given "options" for food -- in "owner" provided or facility-provided.
Anyway, the site posted lists places that allow animals (I think generally fur-bearing typical ones), ie: dogs, cats or smaller vermin that remain in cage at all times. Birds, I believe generally are an exception -- messy, noisy, and now with avian flu a definite tabboo. Repiles and Arachnids are always on the low list of acceptabiliy, namely shorter precidence on companionship. Dogs and cats have been companions for years -- dogs more so and longer.
It's just neat to know that if you wanted a place to stay in the US or abroad, there are places that allow your companion the comfort that you have.

Second year I missed it!
I didn't go this year to my preferred Van Wert Fair excursion in Van Wert, Ohio. There (4-H and other groups have 1 week there) on the campgrounds. I have only ever been there on the weekend, but there are side games, critters galore, farm stuff and horse races, as well as fair rides, food, crafts (for display and for sale), where some youths are recognized for their raising of crops, livestock or even art.
In all, I like this place, for -- I can be entertained for no expense, except for parking $5. I could buy refreshments -- lemon shake up, ice cream, lamb, gyros, brats, burgers, chicken, peanuts -- "rat's smorgosboard"+, but could be equally entertained by seeing livestock I never normally see, including rabbits, piglets, sheep, lamb, calves, goats, burrows, ponies, mink, roosters, wild turkeys (not the drinks), etc. It's on a very large fair grounds, including a full-size horse derby track, where they do race. The grounds are about (maybe) twice that of good ol' Allen County's'.
It was always the signal, the shift from summer to fall for me. I hate not being there. When I did attend school, there was the first four days of school, then Labor Day weekend -- where family and I would go. My neices have been there and liked it -- for the critter menagerie also. They were equally keen on the over-priced, but carnival-only food. My one bad experience with the food was a soup that was served at around 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Why would anyone serve soup that hot? Hint -- if it melts container and/or plasticwear -- it's too blinkin' hot!

Novelty saves it's life
Cute little four-legged chicken is marveled by owners, who have decided to keep it as a pet.
"I'm a freak ... I freak! I'm strange -- I wanna die!"
Relax Wilbur, you're "I wanna die" speech would come moments before the "I wanna live" speech. Do you know what happens to chickens?
No.
They're beheaded, plucked of feathers, gutted then cooked and eaten.
"I wanna live!"
Okay, okay, now Wilbur. We don't need a spider in the corner to tell them you're SOME CHICKEN. Thankfully you have four legs to prove that! You're gonna be okay. You'll live up to the ripe old age of 7, then be buried and dug up by raccoons or oppossums and devoured in partial rigor mortis.
You might, by chance, be mated repeatedly with potential mutant roosters, for more "unique" or "freaky" poultry of your calibur. You'll be an X-chicken egg-laying fool, but loved.

Sex offender back before jury again
Alleged victim is impaired, won’t testify By Dionne Waugh The Journal Gazette
Jurors began hearing testimony Tuesday during a trial for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman with developmental disabilities who a judge said does not have to testify. Todd L. Anderson, 31, of the 4600 block of Weisser Park Avenue, is charged with attempted criminal deviate conduct, attempted rape, sexual battery and being a habitual offender. Anderson, a twice-convicted child molester, is accused of touching a 26-year-old woman sexually and trying to have sex with her as she waited for her aunt to pick her up Aug. 28, 2005.
During the first day of a scheduled two-day trial, Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards said the victim had the mind of a child in the body of an adult. “She does kindergarten-level math. Her reading and writing is like a first-grader. She functions as a 6- or 7-year-old child level,” Richards said. “She is, for all intents and purposes, a child.”
The woman, who has an IQ of 52, also suffers from cerebral palsy, which causes her speech to be slurred. A judge ruled that because of her mental state, the woman is a protected person and does not have to testify. The woman cannot understand something as abstract as an oath, Richards said. Richards said the evidence will show that Anderson, who’d known the victim for a long time, lured her into a backyard about 9 p.m. where he partly undressed her and tried to assault her.
“But for the fact that they were interrupted, he would’ve had sex with her,” Richards said.
Someone flipped on a backyard light, she said, which caused
“He knew she had problems, but he didn’t know she could not give consent,” Hicks said
In 1992,
……..
Thankfully they got this guy who preys on children. His claim of "didn't know" might pan out to 9th grade jurors, but I hope that the jury consists of other persons as well. I will, however, note that Mitch Hicks (his attorney) clearly has run afoul, with a get-my-client-out-of-responsiblity-any-way-I-can attitude, really should be charged with aiding known felon. As for his client -- may his hell start now!

Happy to be Wrong
Woman was reuinited with kidnapped daughter. The apprehension of the perpetrator was aided by a sister-in-law, who was right enough to stop the crime from continuing. For her efforts, I'm sure the mother will be eternally grateful. The abductor, was as many suspected -- distraught woman who (as thought barron) recently miscarried. This might, and I mean might, lead researchers into chemical aid to women suffering post-partem depression, as this can be a wicked experience with varying degrees and duration. It was, thankfully unsuccessfully, tried as a reason that a Texas woman drowned her four/five children, dragging one screaming to his death. My remark simply there, notpost-partem depression, but rather evil wrapped in "insanity".
Gosh -- I'm so insane, I'll have to live a reasonably sane life, never seek counseling and raise all these kids. I'm very smart and can ... wait a moment, I've an IQ of about 94 with some education. I'm not clever at all. Hey, you gotta believe me, I'm mad and hid it well!
Anyway, I guess this will lead to nothing, but perhaps, with enough crime cases shown, society will about burst with crap and decide that enough is friggin' enough! If you see crime -- stop it! That should be the new policy.

Not for a career, but for the discounts ...
I started an online app for Best Buy (or what I throughout my blogs and hereafter will refer Worst Buy or WB for the markup is ridiculous -- oil baronesque). I started the form and they give you a reference ID like for taxes, in case there is a fault somewhere in the process. I thought, okay, whatever. I stopped at page, 50 (or 500 for all I know). It is the worst piece of crap interface I have ever, bar none, ever used. It is almost one window (tab) per page. I'll go back to it soon, but thought if I ever do get hired, I could get some sweet discounts. I'd use it as a weekend/evening job.
I'd be the 40 year-old, non-virgin working at an electronics store. I don't have a fixation on a woman who dumped me, nor an "agreement" with my fiance'/girlfriend, nor am I as crass as an ass, so I guess I am Jack. I saw no female management, so I'd be scared if I was approached as a ***k buddy.
It's just a thought. I'm sure some of you might bump into me thinking, hey ... "What would YOUpay for a 50" plasma TV" or something like that. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge ... know what I mean?

How to scare someone without really trying
On some jobs board, there was a listing for "assisting with young female with disabilities". I called the number and I think the woman about crapped right there. Stammering for a way, she implied that she was, uh ... looking for, um, female ... I have like it narrowed down to a few people.
(Me) So, you have a short list. [here I was trying to give her a graceful out]
Yes, that's right.
(Me) Okay then. Thanks.
It later reminded me of Goldie's comment, "Kayla. You don't have to be afraid. [my name] likes little girls." This, of course, left everyone laughing, sweet Goldie didn't first put it together. "Oh! I didn't mean like that!"

Mel Gibson in ...
The Passion of the Hate. Oh, wait, that's not right. Lethal Words 5, no .... 3 bottles and a little Nazi; still not right. 7 Drinks of Highly Inflamitory Speakers. "Rolling down the street smoking mary, sippin' on gin, hate Jews. Laid waste. With my mind on my money and my money on my mind."
Now, every Mel Gibson-starring movie has rewatchability, where can you spot the predujice/bigotry?
Right there! Did you hear it? Right there! He said it again! He's making schwastikas with his fingers. Since he's not American Indian, I'll suspect it's not a peace/life sign (or the plains Indians ankh).

prediction, about which I hope I'm wrong
There is a "big" story -- or rather a topic about which the media discusses ad nauseum, kidknapped baby, 9 days old. The mother was visciously attacked, the baby stolen. The mother said that she didn't know the attacker. I would guess it was a cult thing and that the baby will not be found ... or found alive.
In the second case, the perp has a very tall neck, whereupon hanging him until dead might prove a problem. ("I can't hangs 'em. The one's got no neck and the other one's too light to hang")+ I suggest killing that ass in the same woods he had bunkers and promptly return the biomass to the planet for re-absorption. "I promise I won't kill you, until I get your confession." "That's not very reassuring." ++
"We're going there to kill them, right? Not to study, not to bring back, but to kill them." +++
He's being charged with many things including sex crimes, so ... we know why he abducted her, as if I couldn't have guessed that. I quite frankly don't see the point in processing the person, with paperwork.
"Wait! You don't need that! I'll give tell anything you want!"
"Of course you will."++++

more Celebrity fiction
If they were to remake Arthur, I would suggest Johnny Depp for two reasons: his playing a drunken pirate has given him able experience in doing a drunk, and also that I'm not interested in seeing Arthur Redeux or a Johnny Depp movie (with helpful additions by Tim Burton). George Clooney would be a good bet, but he lack physical comedy.

celebrity fiction
Announcing evolution of the toy. Moving from the shelf, Tickle Me Elmo, there should be Tickle me: celebrity name here. I would choose Tickle Me Kari Byron, or Tickle Me Angie Harmon. No, no, no. Although it's for Christmas, these are for adults. Ask Santa for yours today!

Pope's fiasco
Look, it was a lovely piece of fish and all I said was, "this meal is fit for Mohammad". [stoning ensues].
Hold it! Hold it! No one and I repeat, no one is to throw any stones until I blow this whistle. Even, and let me make this absolutely clear, even if they mention the name, "Mohammad" [stoning ensues]
To this, an American general or seargent remarked that the Taliban and Al-Quada didn't take many prisoners, favoring to behead them (noting many videos of prisoner executions).
I think if they want something about which to complain, then the US should be obliging, starting with denial of prayer time ever, denial of legal services (for none would be granted with a role reversal). We could, but shouldn't , also behead a few on video for failing to provide reasonable information.

Sleestak?
Kirk narrowly escaped. His big error was trying to kick the very slow opponent. The "zzzz" ing and, "Stop running. I will be merciful .... quick". He also laughs with a "zzzz" sound.
By the way, Sleeslack was from Land of the Lost 70's Saturday morning show.

Looking for jobs on Monster and Regionalhelpwanted I found absolutely nothing on the 17th. How is that flippin' possible? Not a single job posted for 50-100 miles of my zip. I can't believe that the records department got that right. Anyway, disappointment!

Menard's simple
Hat's off to Menards Hardware for making a return the fastest, easiest ever. I can't remember or think of a faster exchange. They took the item, scanned, credited credit card all within 2 minutes, without a question as to why it was returned. That, my friends, is a great simple policy. The part returned didn't fit and made it impossible to use other, more important items. So, thanks Menards!

UAW
For lack of a different union offer, as part of my job acceptance to one job -- I joined UAW. I didn't mind that the union stablized wages, but I thought it odd -- considering what I did. In my several union jobs, I found that too often, unions protected the ill-suited for real work. I would suggest that 20-60 % of those "protected" by unions were indeed incapable of holding a different job. Moreover, fighting companies to get them to pay wages and benefits for a "deisel fitter"+ that exceeded medical practioner's salaries was unreal. I'm glad that it finally (decades later) comes back to bite them in the ass. The question the media hasn't asked, are the dues staying the same or increasing? That is the right question.
Ford purging jobs after GM purges jobs; odd. No, not really odd -- just late in coming.

pat response
Politicians everywhere are stating, "I had my doubts when I stood in ovation clapping the military strike into Iraq". I clearly was mislead with misleading information, some of which I can't expose due to national security. I can condem the war in Iraq and put Bush on a spike. My comrads and I are rally against anything that popularity polls indicate is negative and jumping on board with the positive.
Yeah, war was bad idea. Yeah! Bring our boys home (when we're successful and look good), yeah! Social Security reform -- yeah! We don't have to have solutions, we only have to underscore the negative. It's Comedy Central's roast of George W. Bush; where most of both parties (this time unlovingly) roast him for things unpopular and overplayed by the media.
The rats leap from the cat (Bush) and deny any involvement. And thus ... the cat, having lost the race forever chases the rat. (Chinese astrology based on the great animal race to cross the river. The rat rode on the cat's back and leapt off at the last minute finishing 12th -- there were only 12 places allowed).
I don't like politics. I rather view myself as Rah from Plattoon, pointing out to Taylor that he came in admiring Barnes for the longest time, only now to try to crucify him. In the movie, Barnes died, Elias died, Taylor was injured terribly including burns, and Rah remained ever angry, ever ready.

Guy who can't shoot basketball, shoots anyway
Pittsburgh, PA: 5' 8" man shoots college kids/men who play basketball. I think, ultimately, it was jealousy as the short man couldn't slam dunk. His victims got slammed but didn't duck. In the end, no racially motivated crime here. There was an argument, ending in shooting. The shooter ran off into the foggy morning, hidden for no one to find.

Castle walls are hip again
If you thought the dark ages were over and long ago, then think again! Bagdad is getting its own wall. The US wants to build one at the Mexican border. I'm sure other nations will follow, keeping up with the Joneses. The theme here is not East Berlinish, keeping the populace in, but rather keeping the untouchables out. I think, if given a choice, the US should wall up all of LA, California. Yep, that would be okay!
I also think that they could have some plasma screens or something advertising for products available online at stores, so the unwanted to still spend money in your country/city/region, but not infect it with their presence. Come, buy here, just don't stay. Thank you, Management.

term: pulled a boner
Perhaps it means something embarassing. Imagine a guy at school, when for a good reason or no good reason at all -- broing! You dare not stand and if the bell rings, well, you've suddenly discovered a page needing erasing (for time to elapse). The mistake was being a guy -- with everpresent ideas of sex and women.
In my mind, I'm thinking of Yoda commenting, "Obi Wan has lost a planet. How embarassing. How embarassing."

photo smart
I brought in a CD with pictures to make a quick print for family. The picture isn't what's important, but the prompts at the self-service were. After using the CD, it asks at the end if I would like to make a picture CD. Uh, would it have been too costly to put in a couple lines of code to eliminate that?

by accident
I was at Walgreens today, making a purchase at the counter, when I mentioned to the saleswoman there that there was an oddity on a picture they had showing. She leaned over to examine the picture, I turned away from the picture to see that she was looking at it and ... cleavage. It wasn't intentional. I feel so ashamed because it was unintentional. If I had wanted to see, I would have put forth more effort. I happen to know who she is because of where I get my hair cut. She is the bi-polar daughter of a woman who works at the "salon/gallery". The saleswoman also has a child. I believe that she's still living with some guy, though unmarried.

Popeye's down day
So, they traced down the ill farm with e-Coli and laid down napalm, and it was good. And then they laid down more napalm and found that it was good, and rested. A second group wanted to know why there was e-Coli, but there wasn't much left of anything to examine, so they rested.
Spinach farmers gathered today to file for government tax abatement from a really bad year. The good news is that there weren't any advertisements that needed pulled for there are about 30-70 ratio of people who like to those who don't like spinach. You can't con people into liking it.
Popeye's chicken was unaffected except for the quasi-intellectuals who pieced together only parts and fragments assuming that Popeye's sold spinach. To-be fried chickens could only dream of an avian salvation. Disease would only bring about death in another manner. In retrospect, the chickens fried at Popeyes were overly soaked in oil and fat and killed more people than is calculated.
What's interesting is the biological processes of transmission and carrying of bacteria in crops such as spinach. I know that some plants and crops absorb heavy metals, but keeping e-Coli in stasis is, well ... new to me. I thought that it wouldn't be viable after a short time.

Here's a little Ditty, 'bout John Chapman
While many people become legends after their deaths, John Chapman, born in
John did not randomly scatter apple seeds in the wilderness, rather he planted nurseries of apple trees with fences around them for protection from livestock.
He had a business plan. When Johnny traveled on, a willing neighbor would care for the nursery and sell trees on shares. Johnny would return in a year or two to check the nursery and collect his earnings.
Johnny died near
Before his death he tried to give his wealth to the needy. However, Elizabeth, his sister, inherited over 1200 acres of nurseries worth millions even then.
Each year in mid-September the Johnny Appleseed Festival is held at the

Spam, then my commentary
From:Mike Johnson
RUE 25 MACCORY
Dear [recipient],
My name is Mike Johnson from Sierra Leonian. I am 20 years old and a student. Please I would
like you to assist me as urgent as you can, before they kill me.My father is a wealthy cocoa
merchant.Trouble began early last two year when my father's associates began suspecting that my father is not givingn proper accounts of all the tonnes of cocoa being cultivated by local
farmersn in some villages.
This mistrust deepens between Oct-Sept, 2004 when they discovered avery large some of money my father deposited with a Bank here in
COAST in
kin, being the only child. He dvised me that in case he die, that I should not stay in this
country Sierre Leone because his associates will equally kill me hence my mother had died five
years ago of breast cancer.
He also instructed that if he dies, I should look for a foreign partner who will help me to transfer the money out of this place (Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire), to his account and the person will help
me to invest the money in that country. Based on this, I had to contact you
bearing in mind that you will be humane enough to protect my life. My father finally died on the 5th of june,2005 and since then, I was out of school and went into hiding because
of my father's asociates. All the relevant documents of the $8.000,000.(Eight Million United States Dollars) that was deposited in a Commercial Bank by my late father, are with me now.
I will give you 15% of the total money, if you can help me transferring it into your Account, for onward investment in your country. Please contact me immediately with the above E-mail address and include your telephone and Fax numbers to enable me send you all necessar
documents asregards the money before they kill me. It is a risk free transaction.
I'm waiting for your urgent reply.
Best regards.sincerely,
Mike Johnson
"I went into hiding", so that's why he's typing it! It also explains why he correctly spells words in one place and then incorrectly in other places. "Sierra Lionan ... of the said documents", wow! I can imagine so many other nation using these phrases. Gosh, I should honestly trust some one I don't know who has the name, "Mike Johnson" who is a Sierra Lionan; with this "risk free transaction". Yeah, I'll hop right on that. I guess he got the idea from the Nigerian prince.
Why Africa? I suppose because it is a technological island; isolated and a very large continent with many nations -- generally poor and in turmoil. I can imagine a Madagascar prince emailing from the thriving metropolis' there, or, hey, how about rich Ethiopia with thriving kingdoms and stable government. I guess they need to find a fast track to infomercial purchasers.

I wanna boycott because it makes noise! What a load of BS! This is a crowning example of where NAACP really fails to make itself credible. If they would look at the numbers, there is no real reason to throw a fit. Then F 'em, don't build there and let them exercise atrition onto their "constituents". What a ruddy bother, why put forth the time to type it? Oh, look ... they started using blue ink in the newspaper, that must be racially motivated.

searching for analogy
I couldn't find a comparably bad horror film to relate it to Hills Have Eyes, until I saw Cerpicio's blog, then remembered Cabin Fever. Now that had terrible with horrorible, splashed grossly with wretched. I suppose it was better than Cabin Fever, but only that it had better special effects. As a side note: Hills Have Eyes had the serial killer from Silence of the Lambs ("Hannibal the Cannibal" helps find man sewing woman suit), captured by mutant cannibals. How ironic! He also plays the detective on Monk (series on USA) -- Ted Levine.

The Hills are Alive with the sound of shit!
My word! Hills Have Eyes is like watching Bad Taste wihtout the humor and and the dialogue of Chucky, mixed a Troma film. What the? I suppose, for lack of a better anaology: X-files with interbreeding family of many generations expanded into a full-length movie noting nuclear testing as cause of mutations (stubborn miners who wouldn't leave). Gee, sound famiar Louisianna?
I would strongly recommend against this movie, unless you want to turn people off from movies, in which case it works great for that project.

In other news
I need to wind down -- slowed with time (no, that never works), alcohol can, sleep is better, but that is a long away dream. I slept well for about 2 hours this morning, then the morning began and my wonderful sleep was necessarily interrupted and moving, planning and other things began. Of course, ending in Mother returning home, it was worth it. The bathroom plans were hit and miss and there is still work to do.

Phase out
According to personnel and staff at the rehab hospital, Mom is doing so fine with independance athat she might be discharged mid-week, rather than end of week. The doctors and staff are meeting today to discuss her progess and likely discharge date. It may be in a couple of days -- Thursday, but no final word is yet available.
I'm glad that she worked hard for this. Generally, she is lazier and not interested in helping herself. Here, she either changed her heart or faked well an interest in growing. She's courteous with staff, obliging. She's tired often, but well. It will be good when she leaves and can work at home and live better with more flexiblity.
Father has been ill -- allergies and possible cold. I hope that he finally rests and wins the battle of colds with the cocktail and buffet of meds he has at his disposal. Where she will do out-patient rehab is still up in the air. I will have to talk with her case manager about where, when, how long (ballpark).

Be good patriot
I'm afraid that I'm a good patriot not because I watched the hours of memorial services or highlights (I didn't watch any of that), nor that I wear red-white-blue clothes on national holidays (I don't), nor because I fly a flag on the front of the house (I don't). I'm a good patriot because I believe in the US, despite its shortcomings. I love my country and its ideals. If you have to label yourself, it's likely that others can't see you as you claim to be. Wearing crosses and crucifixes by people so sinful that you'd more likely believe they were athiest or evil influence warping the minds of others ("the force has a strong influence on the weak minded"). Drug using, dealing, raping, murdering, assaulting people (60 some percent of rap) aren't followers of peace and love whether they claim Christianity, Judism or Islam).
I'm sad that "then you're with the terrorists" is used as a perfunctory statement like "Snowball did it", but with the childish strength of "I don't like you anymore. I'm not playing with you anymore." This defining phrase really underscores lies and ill-will propoganda.
Freedom should be important -- I don't remember having a memorial service for the return of the hostages in Iran, held for over 400 days. I don't remember having a memorial service for those killed by neo-nazi extremists (McVey, et al.) I'm pointing out that you keep memorials in your own ways. Televising it like a parade (parade gets less coverage) calling for "all good patriots" to watch. Sad, sick. People die and evil lives.
The people in NYC were killed by terrorists who could have used 50 planes through the US in many different cities. It is important to remember they died unjustly, as if there were just ways to die. I find it improper to claim victory with the memorial service --- or to claim patriotism because of being there -- or watching it, or broadcasting it. A patriot isn't a person firing fireworks on July 4th, it is a person loving their country.
The "must watch television" coverage of September 11 memorial services should be as optional as the Superbowl. You don't have to watch it, even if you like sports or football. Opting out, doesn't make you unAmerican or unpatriotic.

Standing ovation
Today in mother’s workout, I got to see her stand for periods of time – perhaps ten minutes standing, then five minutes sitting. She played cards while standing. I don’t know the therapy accomplished with that. She got back to room in pain, and I read to her. She had some “throbbing” pain and requested me to rub her legs for moments only. I read some to her and later, she stopped. She fell asleep on her on accord. Shortly before her 11:39 PT she had pain meds and the nurse then requested at-home med sheet. Thankfully I brought this today. The nurse added this to the bundle/file folder of her mess. She predicted that Mom would be out by the weekend. I mentioned to her the penny bet that Father and I had on her discharge date, I bet on Friday, he on Thursday. Though, I don’t know how close she might have come, the nurse guessed Wednesday. Hey, wouldn’t that be grand!
She is in good spirits and is obviously growing strong. Her late morning PT was a little late, as there were some more critical need patients that took longer than expected. In lieu of this, mother spun around and got to be better on her wheelchair. She’s the new NASCAR wheeler, perhaps.
Curse it! I have to finish early … my battery low and no plug in sight in the therapy room. Blast!
So, the big news is that she stood!
----
Wow! Some of the ladies here -- yumm... Mom's OT (occupational therapist), suweet! I'd pull a Judd Nelson if she were to ask me, "Where's your lunch?"
Ha! "You're wearing it!"
Anyway -- bitter cold in whole building, you'd think that there was a winter warning outside or a heat warning -- necessitating the too - strong of AC

I saw on SPIKE TV, an ad for Ultimate Fighting (also super wrastling) ... there were four different ladies in tight little outfits, mildly sweaty -- hot! I wondered to myself -- what is the relationship? I finally found it! The viewer is wrestling with sexual frustration!

Random bits
While under the veil of pain meds and pain my mother was repeatedly asked her DOB for verification -- right med for right patient; she grew tired of being continually asked. "You'd think you'd right it down" -- quite funny after the fact.
"It hurts, but it's worth it" (regarding her therapy).
"No one's every been happy in the therapy room -- we'd wonder what was going on"; nurse mentioned to us. We had a conversation about switching whiskey for the tea and hence -- less painful, goofy therapy sessions.

How could it be worse?
Perhaps I should start digging graves, then finding that not digging graves -- doing almost anything else, would be better so that each day is okay or grand not dismal.
I'm not so down. I'm just not where I want to be; so I struggle, though not with depression. I struggle with stress the Yin and I the Yang (not wang).

Flip side
I've slept terribly, worried, then been pissed -- a bevy and ocean of emotions -- tides pulling in and out. After it all, I step back, lie down and am happy that my mom is really okay. There's so serious problem; not now, not soon. It was a build up to steam, and I'm finally winding down.
My now, current ulcer-inducing problem is my unemployment. That now is a thunderstorm. It hurts when I attempt to sleep -- stress eating my stomach.

There was a nurse or tech who was in the room at hospital. My mother, apparently was sure that she was married (likely through a conversation) stated, "She's married to Dick".
"You got that right", she said pointing to her side -- slightly showing that she was pregnant. Interestingly, she wasn't wearing a wedding band. I drew my conclusion -- draw yours.

Whom I saw
I saw a woman from a school where I often subbed and two-fold, she and her husband attend the folks' church and Sunday School. Their mother is to be admitted to the rehab hospital after her surgery. It was just odd seeing her there. She then remembered that her progress had been announced sometime at church.
Another person I saw there was a cute Physical Therapist; well, married and cute.

Rehab experiences (incomplete)
The schedule for therapies changes, as do the therapists. There is a job board and each patient is given a daily roster of whom they see and when. The patients, by the third day, are expected to come on their own accord to the designated areas for therapy. They are each, also, responsible for their own pain management and requesting of pain meds.
Mom seems satsified with the place presently. Today was assessment, where the therapists determine her weak areas for study and improvement. She is tired and sore, but I think will work through it just okay. She was not as good in the regular hospital with the thearapists, but I feel here, she will be better.
They have meals always at the same time and she likes the meals there much better than at hospital (main). She used a wheeled walker today and likely will have that upon completion of therapy. Overall, I'm happy with what I have seen, in that they push her to successfully complete in a reasonable amount of days (2-14; average 10).
Father and I returned in the afternoon and Mother was happy that she learned how to use a shower bench to enter the tub for a shower. She did a lot of moving today and was tired early. She found that a walker with wheels worked much better. She still has much to learn and strength to gain.
Good news for her, I found the AC, for her room was, well ... hot.

Yet another move
The thing that shook me was the mix of school and nursing home feel. Oh, eerie feel of the nursing. If it costs $30,000 annual, as my father suggests to keep a person in nursing home, I'd rather hire a nurse. I hated that feeling -- unnerving.
