Easter bonnets, spring sonnets, flowers blooming, minds zooming. The lot of them have their heads in the clouds. They finish spring break, come back for parent-teacher conferences and then a three day weekend. Thank you Jesus (not a slander ... think about my statement)!
Bunnies and Monday burdens with two types of returning students --- sleepy, sugar crash, and zippy -- high on sugar. It'll be a fun, fun, fun day!
This year ... the family will converge for the first time on Easter with the many dogs ... staying at home? They are coming up for hours only on Sunday from Indy area. What a difficult day and Monday for all of them. I liked the idea of a picnic somewhere in the middle ... Munice, Gas City? That's not going to happen. Wacky, late ... hurried ... it'll be what it'll be.
Happy Easter to you all!

Gestapo
Sgt. Hans Georg Schultz voice (John Banner):
You will schtand against die fensch, ja? Dare, you vill schtay until I dell yu to move!
Halt! Hoo goes dare?!
No ... yu go play, kinder! Recess ist nicht don, jetz!
Yu, yungen! Du hast been sehr schlest heute! Sschtayen sie dare vor 7 meenuts! I leht yu know!
---
or something like that. You know, I'd like one day not to feel like a outpost guard limiting rations for a few rebel rousers or trouble-makers.
You! Yes, you laddie! Stand still!
You can't have any recess! How can you have any recess if you don't do your work? (pudding and steak)

searches?
I was looking for Nigerian music and simplified it with, Niger
There was a song of, "My wife ran off with a Niger" -- really?!
From American History X -- Kill Nigers and Jews.
Thank goodness bigots can't spell! Perhaps, they had national problems?
I looked up "nuke" and found, Carly Simon, et al --- what the? Oh ... it was a "no nukes concert"

choices
I presented a child with a choice today.
He has failed for several days to submit signed work -- due to be returned. I have reminded him the last several days that if the papers are returned, he will continue to lose some / all recess time. With this he cried. I asked him if I should call "Mom" to remind her to send in the work. He said, "no". Despite the prospects of losing recess ... all she needs to do is sign and return the papers, he will lose recess perpetually ... he chooses to lose recess. What's that home like? Should I call Mom to have her sign it ... no.
I'm calling her tomorrow anyway, it was just intersting.
Also today, a boy shouted out "N -----". Girls came up to me and said that he used the "F word". When I asked him what he said, he said that he returned a comment to him of, "N ------" to that person. The first person to use it, is a problem student in a different class, but same grade.
I don't put much faith in much of that at all. Anyway, I don't expect it to be repeated anytime soon.
