finalist

The above was posted for humor. I didn't probe into the job ... ha ha ha.

I got the following response from an application:
"We have narrowed it down and have made our selection. Unfortunately I must inform you that you were not a finalist."

Finalist? What kind of contest? It was a contest? Crud! I knew I should have bribed a judge.

Winter Whoas!

An hour after snowblowing, there was snow covering where I had been. Snow, wind ... these are not strangers to our land. It is, however, a great punch after many winter weeks of light, light winter.

What I want

is a snowblower/thrower that picks up winter by the collar and punches it, kicks it while it's down ... in a sense, a machine that drop kicks and beats the season within an inch of its life. I'd like to see snowbanks with a long stretch of goo dropping from its nose as it sits sorely recouperating from a haltingly fatal beating after starting a wicked fight.

Snow vs Drifthog+: the most one-sided fight you'll experience

+ Drifthog is conceptual name for snow-battling equipement

Special Valentine News Report

After years of exhaustive research, there has been no conclusive proof whatsoever of fidelity and the purchase of jewelry. While the purchase of unbroken bands is tradition for relationships, marital vows are broken unlike the ring bands. "Bigger and more expensive is better", claimed by retailers may not be true. While the overspending, like vehicle prices or home improvement projects are well noted, many people receiving the jewelry can remark usually of who got the piece for them, but attach absolutely no meaning to the piece at all.

Jewelry, it appears, does not guarantee fidelity, respect, admiration, or physical contact. It appears to continue a business of buying and buying, usually more than the purchaser can afford, for "a week's paycheck and a peck on the cheek". + There are no statistics that relate positively, generally, that more yields more. In contrast, though sappy and dreary, many males have coupled their cards with voice-cards playing the song "More Than Words" by Extreme. Hint, hint ... I bought you this, I think you want what I plan (to do).

So those would-be lovers in pursuit ... make yourselves happy, live well, live together, and love. The buy, buy, buy, buy your way to my heart may not be the best course of action. If you think winning affection through debt happens when you court, what happens on each holiday? Christmas, Anniversary of first date (also other firsts), birthdays, Easter, Arbor Day are all "buy me something" days. If you haven't been married, then this was just an FYI.

If the woman you're "in to" behaves like "material girl", this does not disipate after marriage. If you have a job, get another one.

While the allure of over-buying is tempting, better is romance. The industry can't sell, "do something spontaneous, meaningful, catered to your lover's interests". Leave the world behind, extricate yourselves for a bit of time and do something for each other. A long walk, ending with a surprise ... an evening of chick flicks (yes, more than one) with a real fine dinner, candlelight and hugging/holding ... holding hands for 24 hours (yes, in a row) in public, making everyone aware you are a great and loving couple; these are a few ideas.

People -- demanding stuff builds resentment, please don't do it. Expecting a trip to Paris of a guy pulling in $40,000, is unrealistic. Hope high, aim low or "aim small; miss small" ++. A man with a vocation/occupation shouldn't say, I love you with a McDonald's dinner and two fries twisted together making a heart, but less financially stable people will do something a little less fairy tale-like and might do a cheesy, though thoughful (heartfelt) gesture.

Happy planning and have an enjoyable Valentine's day with your loved one! If you are really in love, not just lust, follow your heart, do soemthing special, make that person know you love them by example, not force.

Happy Valentine's day, several hours early!

Aeon Flux

Well, Aeon Flux, an X-Rated comic was made into a PG-13 movie. I think you understand the leap of faith here.

I got more out of the movie than I thought I would. I think I understood something to be a plot. It is an interesting attempt to bring a comic to film. It was all eye candy, with some odd twists in the story.

[SPOILER]
It is a novel idea --- cloning, because the small fraction of humanity left is sterile.
I won't spoil anymore, but the question of living forever.

....
I got a chance to watch Charlize Theron. Now, this isn't a role where acting is important, so I don't know if she's a good actor. I was able to quickly answer questions.
Is she attractive? Does she look good in skin-tight clothing? Does she have a nice voice? Does she show some potential for being a clever, enjoyable person?

I answer yess to them all. I wonder what she's like out of character? I watched the movie and she's stuck a bit in my mind. Hmmm. Drat that movie!

Oh, the review, if it's on, go ahead and watch it. It wasn't a great movie, but had loads of effects and a confusing, but conclusive story. There are questions about character's motives. I think, because it was based on years of comic work, the story is sound and they didn't have to pull ideas out of their sleeves.

Weather oops

I was early in declaring the storm a miss.

Presently, shifting high winds and mild accumulation. The temperature is cold and most of the schools have been cancelled. Dude, I so called that wrong.

Monday, February 12, 2007

Missed me!

"There's a storm a comin'", they called. "Billions of tons of snow heading your way. You'll be up to your armpits in Marsians." All of this huffing and puffing and I see exactly diddly here. It was a bad call.

local market

The local market is going through, what environmentalists call desertification. Here, while I'm on the road, you can see in the distance where I might want to be. There is the arid wastes and scrubland between me and the distant hills. The concern is, what is over the hill and did I waste my time. In any respects, the area job market has gone dry.

Fair trial

Defense counsel for John Evander Couey remarked that he could not get a fair trial. This came after 14 of the jury members said they were fairly certain he was guilty. A known sex offender pleading not guilty, what are the chances of that? The defense requested another part of Florida because Florida did a great job in the election and in some criminal cases.

Couey has "deep passions" that rule his actions, but plainly denies ever raping the (lengthy, poetic, lustful description) victim. He also noted that had he been the perpetrator, he would have had more consentual sex with the child before burying her alive. He then thought about his statement and recanted, blaming "hunger" for his poor judgment and sought a snickers bar to fight the hunger. His counsel capitalized on this, noting that since Couey clearly showed gay tendencies wanting a snickers bar, that there wasn't sufficient evidence to continue the case.

The judge disagreed and ordered the counsel to "shut [censor blocking] up!"
........
Jokes aside, again make 2006 and thereafter the years of finding, capturing, convicting and executing sex offenders.

This spot here in Indiana is a bit from from the lake and doesn't get nearly as much dumping. Still, I predict piles high and accidents abundant.

Hell Froze Over

Dixie Chicks, "back"? Later, charges were brought against them for using bad music as a weapon and for unlawfully re-entering the US. As negotiators are standing by, Celine Dion will return to Canada as part of the exchange between these two countries with different, yet equal WMDs.

People who like music are suing the music awards for allowing deaf and blind people to make the decisions on music. The awards committee responded by saying to a chair, that "no person blind deaf here is". Other members were upset that such harsh criticism was made of a group that clearly shares the ten-percent-of-brain-use over a body of sixty people. The group claimed that despite political statements made, they are, in no way less talented than before or than those others awarded.

Notable awards were also given to Geico commercials, Snickers commercial, and the Superbowl half-time election committee. As of this writing, I understand that with little atttendance and no viewership, the awards will be posted on we_are_talent-MuzakAwards dot com next year with pre-recorded videos to be played for acceptance.

Open Season

I tried to like this movie. I tried to be entertained. Alas, I was neither entertained or interested. I found one background error that is really the whole movie.

There is a couple with a dog who are on the road. They are in a silver RV. The plate-constructed RV and the dog passenger play roles later, is on the road fine. When the camera pulls away to show the spanse of the road and the wilderness area, you can find the error.

The RV narrows to a tic tac driving within the lines of a page margin. While the proportions were correct before, suddenly ... poof, they are wack. The lack of details and general flatness of it wasn't good. When the bear is climbing up the cliff, they could have made it like Kipper animation (also books)... wide white spaces focusing on what is important. This is true of Curious George books as well. It was put together, clearly as a cellular piece. The movie lacked details, including its writing.

The story itself was fine, pretty typical, but I guess I found the characters bland and not worth remembering. The few verbal and visual references were forgetable too.

Overall, I would rate this as totally forgetable. There was no outstanding scene. The previews showed most of the funnier parts of the movie and the action scenes. I think I could have done without seeing the diminutive, one-antler deer spontaneously pooping after the bear asks to find a toilet.

God's sense of humor

I finished reading "Fight Club" and I make my last call to where I will start. My clothes:
black, black, white

I am Jack's nervous twitching eyelid.

Fighting book

"Fight Club" by Chuck Palahniuk. I watched the movie first, which jaded me to the movie. I would suggest this book, even if you watched the movie. There are some differences. There is a charcter oddity, the narrator has a hole in his cheek that doesn't heal, has had emergency surgery, but is squeamish about putting medicine up his butt to keep him awake and Tyler asleep.

It is an odd novel and I would liken it to part Stephen King and part Dogma.

Set to fall

I predict that Obama will fall out of the senate having not put enough time in for sessions. He'll be busy trying to ensure votes for President, then he'll not be re-elected because he didn't do enough in office. Then the word will be that it was bias, but it will fall back on the fact that he was led to believe that a senator with limited experience could make it to President. It wouldn't be a racial thing, but not enough time spent in senate (twice over).

Obama ... bow out now, pursue it later. It's the right thing to do. Show who you are and if people really want to vote for you. Hillary ... send all of your money and the moneyt that Bill got to the party and run someone else. If I were a republican (I'm not a party member), I'd say run and fall flat on your face, as you'll likely do.

McCain ... run! I still haven't seen much from the Republican camp. Guiliani ... not sure on you. Since I wanted McCain instead of Bush, I think, so far, I'll stick with McCain. Liberman will get many moderates, but not the ends. I think he'll pull from both parties, so run ... why, not?

Better still ... do popular vote with 1st and 2nd winners being President and Vice President, regardless of parties.
Kill the electoral college. It is crap.

If you can't figure out the voting machine, you probably shouldn't vote.
I once saw a webpage on "Should you vote". There were many, many, many people in it. It suggest that at <75% accuracy, you don't vote. Interestingly, many were in a particular party. Huh. There were a few I failed because I don't know entertainers. I might live next to one and never know it.

How I imagine the end of Harry Potter 7

In Return of the Jedi, Vader sees what a sadistic foul creature the emperor is and grabs him with his remaining mechanical hand and throws his lightning shooting butt down the vent shaft giving the space stationa a brief power surge and nothing more.

There would be Voldemort killing Harry and before Harry's quite dead, they group or a single person kills Voldemort. Voldemort still gritting his mismatched teeth (not Ralph Fiennes, but his character's) while a spell is erupting around him.

hands -- political

with the art of negotiation, it is said, things get done. Let's take, for instance, seatbelts. Seatbelts weren't the law. There were comittee meetings and senate and congressional pork bellying on a law making it a requirement that all auto manufacturers build them. That's common ****ing sense! Why debate it? It peeves me that there was pork belly on the bill passed. That, right there is a great example of the bullcrap in politics.

Let's see ... it generally saves lives ... huh, I don't know. I'll sign it, if you alot some money to this thing here, having nothing to do with helping people.

That's how politics work. It should be: hey, this saves lives. Make it a law. Great ... a two-page law requiring that seatbelts be mandatory. Simple.

Liar's club

MR posted about Hillary standing by her decision to blame the President Bush. She "can" use this defense as long as people nod and agree. Sad to say, the President is not infalable, but he is held to a higher standard, fair or not, than most other people. He is the leader of the free world. He holds a significant title and responsiblity. He is held to higher standards.

Most people don't like war. It is unpopular. Regardless or moral rightness to defeat "the hun", leading people into war is a bad political move.

Americans were less against Afghanistan than Iraq, because there was a direct link between Al Quada in Afghanistan and the September 11th attacks.

The buyer's remorse on voting for war on Iraq is not interesting, but typical. Again, what the whole bill that was passed isn't clear. What is clear is that the bill directing war with the terrorist regime, some of which is in Iraq was signed.

Unlike any previous war declaration, there is a borderless entitity, as it were, of terrorists that don't have Islamistan as a territory. This doesn't make it any clearer or more correct to the average Joe to say ... okay, get the group.

Because there is not Islamistan to bomb quickly, troops are spread out and trying to fight undesignated people like in Vietnam. Vietnam was poorly executed on a number of different levels. There were lessons to be learned there and in the Kuwait war. Somalia should have taught other lessons.

Here America is the number one supporter of the war. We have no one else to fall back on to help us. We knew that going in. Since we thumbed our noses at other who would not help us then, we don't have their support now. We won't get it.

Going back to the beginning, politicians backpeddle and lie. Really? That's shocking! Politicians claiming they were duped, unbelievable. Politicians aren't to be trusted? I can't hardly stand it. Really?

The next thing you'll write is that the U.N. is corrupt and is full of self-serving politicians. That would never be.

Politicians lie. They all lie. I don't like politicians. Why write that they shock you that they lie? Why would anybody be shocked that die-hards believe liars? "I want to believe" is the motto, not only of X-Filers but of die hards for politicians and politics and parties. They want to believe and are then have to defend that person or their faith in that person.

Hillary, bad choice. Obama, bad choice. While Bill Clinton didn't have business ties to give favors to, he never met a dollar he didn't like. He'd lie to get another nickel or power.

Yes, I noted my favor of his Presidency, but he was a schiester. He was a more open liar and obsessed with power. I think the economy being better during his presidency was the "carrot".

He might have "missed his chance to kill Osama", but I don't know what he knew. He didn't put a whole load of troops into a war that brought more American hostilities (or worsened them). I think, this is why I think of the years favorably.

Clinton is a liar, power-hungry, but I felt safe and we weren't engaged in a very complex war. Our economy was good and had war been inevitable, I'm sure that he would have cheesed over people and charasmatically charmed them into his thinking. Therein is his power. Clinton probably could have talked his way into getting other countries to join the war.

He would have had a long discusion about it with committees, probably wasting much time.

Politicians will lie to make themselves "look" better. How else can they get elected, re-elected, and do the talk circuit and book deals? The problem with American has been said, "too many lawyers". If you take a look at the government, what is the percentage of congress and senate that are lawyers? I think you understand what I mean.

I wouldn't want them to not know the law, but clearly knowing and following are not the same. "What do you mean by taking the bribe money out of my freezer that you saw, on video, me take?" We need to held government to higher standards, not just the President, but people's claim is ... America doesn't need a whole lot of change.

I disagree.

Vegan indignities

If you live a vegan lifestyle, you're like an addict, having to justify to others and yourself why you choose that lifestyle. I am not quite a vegan and don't have to justify to myself at all. Most meats smell to me like what it is ... seared meat. It smells bad, not quite as rotten as roasted stomach, gall bladder and spleen, but close. If people ask me why I don't eat most meat, it's because it stinks! The better part of eating sensation is aroma and smelling.

Imagine white-laden asparagus (notes of strong bacterial growth), recently discovered months old mushrooms and/or past shelf life cottage cheese. Now, you could cook it, cut it with other ingredients, spice it, but it will be bad and smell bad. You could not get it to smell good. Beef, while I used to eat it, smells really unappealing. Poultry smells fouler still. Pork can sometimes smell okay, but I don't eat it unless it is in a heavy-cabbage eggroll. If you eat eggrolls like I do sometimes, you generally are eating pork and chicken.

I can sometimes eat hot & sour soup, but this too is beef broth with chicken broth, soy and chicken parts. There is some sliced tofu and mushrooms, but it is a chicken based soup. If it is heavy on the soy and stronger on the tofu -- it can be good.

The sad bit of some people is that they try to escape meat -- like a "catch me if you can", but loose the hide-and-go-seek game. If you give up on something, then crave it, you will always lose out. You should limit things, but not cut out things that you crave. I will eat a couple of bags of chips if I don't stop myself. I therefore will eat chips sometimes, but I won't buy them more than a few times a year. I didn't make it up to the lake cottage this year, so I avoided them there.

I don't crave chocolate thankfully, for most chocolate affects me badly. If I do get "peckish" for it, I try to find white chocolate, which affects me much less. Dark chocolate also affects me less. I know that some people avoid meat because it was once alive. What a foolish notion! Most everything around you is alive. Because it has a perceivable face doesn't it make it greater or less.

I suppose, with that thinking, if bunnies had faces like slugs -- they would be "good eats". Thinking more about facial symmetry and similar construction, wouldn't most things be off limits? To take this approach, which some do, would require supplements that would cost mucho money. I know there are third-world populations that are vegans, but I'd like to underscore third-world. Indians have what kind of mortality rate? Africans have how high of a mortality rate? This goes beyond warfare.

Some cultures don't eat meat for religious purposes, but they also don't have a lot of food around. If you reversed policy and said, "okay everyone, eat anything that crawls, walks, or runs", you'd have a shortly thriving culture. You'd then have burn out because all of the slower critters would be diminished in the area. Trying to get people to go back to a vegan diet and lifestyle then would be impossible.

In commercial fishing, there are years and decades when the call is, "No more albacore. No more abalone."
Does that mean you don't get any more orders for them?
No ... there aren't any remaining here.

Since people in the US have access to a global food market, it is reasonable to use that access to get a wide range of food, meats included. It is proven that children need lots of protein and minerals and vitamins found in different meats. People can survive without them, but they may not thrive. People should give their children and themselves the best chance at survival and eat what tastes good that is nutritionally sound. I almost want to wrongfully correct people sheltering their children from meat because it once had a face.

Be a vegan for the right reason, not because it once had a face. I can understand you want to limit the amount of processed or overly processed food. Those who want to help cute critters , well ... there's a toy shop there ... help those stuffies from being chewed.

News Damnit!

I was talking with MR and he suggested that MSNBC was slanted more than even CNN. That was surprising as I thought it was more evenly critical. There is no American media that isn't on one side or another of the teeter totter of bi-partisan politics, so you have little choice but to get sided. He mentioned a TV program with some guy. I quickly interjected that I don't watch it, I read it.

Today I thought about what the difference is between reading and seeing. There is a great reason why news wants you to watch. First, you see advertisements which pay bills and make them money. Second, seeing and hearing is more personal. You feel almost engaged in a conversation, but you aren't. You are still the passive listener. Even, like zealot fans jeering the game, if you argue with that person -- what's the point?

I read the news. I can read other sources and scrutinize and better extract the important, factual work. There is no "evil theme music" online or print. There is no animated bombs or bouncing faces with text. It is more difficult to influence you without the deceptive media (intentional or otherwise).

Entertainment news should have the required label of not news, but "gossip". Paris Hilton seen reading three pages of middle-school level book --- more news on E!.

How to disable TiVo

Take away the remote. There were the five adults wandering around the house desperately looking for one remote. It flatly didn't exist anymore. The likely thieves, the puppies, were innocent. After twenty some minutes, Monkeyjack shoves his fist, once again, into the sofa cushions ... he felt something hard. Like pulling Fat Albert through a manhole, he held aloft the Excalibur ... TiVo remote. The TiVo is completely useless without the remote.

The lost remote was found near the cushion, "it wasn't me ... wasn't my fault" where Lori sits. Despite claims of innocence, the evidence is against her. There is no penalty, but she, Amy, JJ missed out on valuable time to watch Ghost Whisperer ... TiVo-less.

JJ later comfessed that it wasn't really her show. I know that it isn't my show either. It is a woman's show and there's where I step away. It will likely air on Oxygen or Lifetime later.

bad means good

James Caviezel, who played Jesus for Mel Gibson seemed to be limited on roles. Now he can divorce himself from Gibson with irreconcilable differences, but lacking palimony. You'll get to see him in other movies. I guess the nice thing about the growing intolerance is not having to deal with 8% of the lunatics. While the other 92% are still around, we at least shrugged off some of the louder Hollywood asses.

Rememeber boys and girls, if you ever do anything bad, blame drugs. Even if you haven't done drugs in a while or ever, blame them, then you are free from guilt. Oh, the alcohol did it. Oh, the drugs did it. I really don't feel that way ... it was the drugs, they made me do it or say it or write it.

Don't think less of me because it was the alcohol. While I too, have been an ass while I was drunk, I have been blessed by friends who haven't called me out on it. "You were a total ass when you drank" is what I should have heard. Herein, you have a compassion for those around you. I suppose there is the difference. If all the world is your stage, then you get the limits of compassion and aggression from everyone you show.

If you're afraid of being an ass ... don't go public; don't go into entertainment.

To my friends,
Thanks friends for putting up with a dilligent ass, putting my best foot forward into my mouth.

World Trade Center

I'm not a good American here when I write, "this movie wasn't very good". While it showed the trauma on a body when a building is slowly crushing people, it is for drama purposes only. I'm not a big fan of Nicholas Cage and you get to hear quite a bit of him. He and his partner are port authority officers and the story is really about a small team that enters tower 1, it colapses, crushing many ... you see the slow death and terror of a building on people. The story is not much on the towers themselves or other people per se. You see the families of victims, but mostly the two families of the two "featured" officers.

It was better constructed than Ladder 49, but was mostly drama. I thought it was something different, so I was disappointed with it. I guess if you watch it expecting nothing, you'll be surprised to get "something". The acting is, so-so, and the ultra drama of how does this affect our relationship. That to me, seems, chick-flick. You know, if I'm trapped under 300 pounds of rubble, my knees broken and only my bust exposed, I wouldn't think deeply into relationship issues. Gosh, if I die, how will that help or hurt my marriage? That's a stupid question. Never once was it, man ... I wish I could be with the kids again. You knew Cage's character he had four kids, but you really only saw two.

Peña's character had a dispute about an unborn child's name, Alyssa, no Olivia, and again. That was the nagging question in his mind? I've never been at death's door, seeing a glowing Jesus carrying, what looks like a water bottle. I would like to think if I were dying and really nothing could stop it, that I would think about what I'd like to do if I could remain around the people I love. I don't think I'd continue arguments about names, numbers, dates, politics. I'd be angry and sad that I would like end my time on Earth and would then only be able to watch them and not able to interfere -- helping in my own flunky way.

Strange as it is ... World Trade Center is 64% chick flick. That is how it made it through the gamet of would-be and batting cirlce protesters.

and a word about genitalia

When children grow, they often openly discuss genitalia for they don't find it offensive. There is no taboo rating on it, until a "magic" but random age when "let's not talk about that, shall we ... it's rude". Until that time, you can hear wonderful stories about kids noticing differences in mommies. "She is taller", "she's got a bigger butt", "she has big boobies", might be some talk of the children.

Last night, a couple of event really will not soon leave my mind. A less-embarrassing event was Jared's, "I don't want them (the dogs) to smell my 'pee-pee'". I understand that later he was worried that they might bite it.

Both Jared and Charlie were armed with nerf-like guns that fired a nerf dart with suction cup. They had fun firing at each other and then at other items. The game got "great" when they hit the wide target of my butt, not once but repeatedly. "Ow! Ooh!" I complained, as if hurt. They giggled having shot me in the "bum ... the bottom."

They each tried to circle around and circle a more vital area that I sheltered with hands and a criss cross. Earlier in the evening, I was battled with lightsabers, swords, and random toys flung at me. One item was a lightsaber, that from a lofted bed's height to my fallen-on-floor position, landed square into my groin. I was lucky that it wasn't that heavy and it didn't have much speed.

I was also "sliced" and stabbed in the "balls". "Balls" was quietly voiced. It's funny, because Monkeyjack, in whose house this was happening, has a little story of saying "balls" quieted. The story is, though, "have you ever noticed that [Monkeyjack] lowers his voice when he says balls?" This was when he was young and his mother, bless her heart, despised vulgar language. Better still, I heard "lowers his voice" and followed up with a more baritone version of the "balls" not necessarily quieter. It stuck.

To finish off the genitalia stories ... sorry, Monkeyjack, you can write about it later -- better, there is the story of "adult game".

The two dogs there are brother and sister, both fixed. They have tons of energy and would tear the house and each other apart in their play and dominance fighting. Charlie saw Echo humping Cheyenne and later recalled to Lori that he saw them doing "adult games".+ Jawdrop and stunned. Both Monkeyjack and Lori, separately want and don't want to know what he means. Charlie exaplains what he saw and then says no more.

Oh ... fudge (the other word, perhaps more appropriate)! So, nearly a day later, either he submits an amendment to his statement or he is asked again, he suggests Conga dancing, like at weddings and the like, as the "adult game" they were playing. Whew! Otherwise, the TV programming they anyone watches will have to step back from PG to G, I suspect.

There is another story, far more embarassing, but I will hope that Monkeyjack sometime writes about it. It is a guy thing gone wrong. Boys will be boys will be boys, and then you have a situation, a mess, and the lesson was learned by incident rather than lecture. I might much, much, much later write on "pee pistols". It's a guy thing ... nothing gay about it, just embarassing.

+ Monkeyjack later revised it to, maybe "human games". Charlie once stated, "girls play with dolls; humans play with games." So there is the distinction between humans and girls.

Robots

Robots, while having some interesting quotes, didn't entertain me. It had some bugs to work out of it. Bolts to riches story with robots and evil villians. Follow your dream, but you probably, like me, won't watch this movie twice.

Thanks to MR, I got to see this movie. Thanks for the beer MR!
We later watched COPS and HOT PURSUIT. Sadly, there weren't too many suspect deaths, despite their aiming at civilians and officers.

Police get combat training

Well, that's how it should have been used. Police in Washington find a transient's bunker. They believe he is responsible for the knife-point rape of an eleven year old girl. I believe that the police should have kept him in his hovel and shouted, "Fire in the hole", before dropping in a few flashbangs, tear gas, and incindary devices. Like groundhog Salem ... if the perp comes out of the hole, he's guilty. If the perp stays in the hole, he's innocent for six more weeks.

Breakdown

Boston, the East Coast San Francisco is defending a school district that, in one class, read to the class "King & King", a tale of a gay prince who seals his marriage to another prince with a kiss. It was one of, supposedly, many other instances of "diverse" teaching. I wouldn't call that diversity, that's gay! Why anyone would jump on the bandwagon and defend the school and teachers on that one goes beyond me. "Heat, oxygen, fuel", huh? Fire, that's what I suggest.

An Allentown, PA school covered up a rapist, allowing him to continue to attend the school and rape other children. Now, who you gonna call? I suggest in this case that anyone who knew -- prompt and instant firing. Administrators -- fired, fine, case aided in civil suit action. By some state and principality laws, the administrators who allowed the rapes might be eligible for rape counts themselves, in that they facilitated the rapes.

New Mexico sex offender is released two weeks after conviction, later enters middle school dressed as police and carrying weapon. Hmmmm. Is this person safe? Let me debate it ... no way in the world is this guy safe.

Hmmm the year of the porn arrests is not yet over and for that I am quite thankful! Arrest them, shoot them, request of the families what they want done with the bodies. Taxpayers should not have to pay for these people and will they ever be safe ... uh, no. As for the gay teaching in Boston, I'd suggest you get the blank out of Dodge.

I suppose next they will read from timeless classics like, "Village People", "Daddy and Earl Go Fishing on Weekends", "When Rick Stays Over", "Mommy and Betty Make the Bed", "Mommy Knows Carol Likes Spoons", and "Daddy, Daryl, and Daryl".

Homicide book review

Homicide Special by Miles Corwin. It is interesting that the Special Unit was set up, but failed later on due to lack of recent experience. This team was responsible for the OJ case. After that, they made some changes. The book includes profanity from the dialogues between detectives and suspects. The work, while interesting, is not good case work. It is for entertainment and choppy. The cases are a bit hard to follow, for it is written as if it were a TV serial (soap opera). While good for entertainment for some, I like more non-fiction, more science than this offers.

If you like fictionalized life with case-based studies and mild biographies on some persons, this is a book for you. Mind you, in deals in murder and rape cases. I was not impressed.

Today, I guess my message was

You push it, and in some cases much too far.

Well don't that beat all! Here we take the good time to wipe out every last bit of husband/boyfriend and they appoint some manager who's hairier than than my old husband/boyfriend.

Gosh, Ms. Taggert. I sure hate to see you all riled up like this. How would it be if me and the girls were to shoot that man dead.

Well, that might help.+

GROCERY SPECIALIST, Menards

I kid you not, a real job posting. I look at Menards and don't think eggs, sugar, butter, milk, bread. I've been in Menards and don't see that either. What the?

take 2, pay 1

There's a temp company that is happy keeping people on temp status. Worse still, they charge principalities, townships, counties, and states whopping sums and payt out little. From the short experience I had with them, this company, sounds like smelly, had contracts with these governments to do work. They are wasteful and from what I have seen of the work, efficient only on one end. On the other end it seems to me that they are likely the ones to buy hammers for $200.

So this company partners itself with a national company but bilks government for money. That's taxpayer money, man, so there's my beef with it. I don't like wasteful companies, but if McDonald's were to choose Flakey Joe's discounted discount breading stuffs for their buns and the product isn't worth what they paid ... so what, they could and should choose another one. The people making choices for other things are not up for review. Their ignorant choices go unchecked and unnoticed by the general public.

I could venture a conspiracy ... padding someone's pocket, but it is just as likely that a stupid person in a position to make decisions, makes bad ones and is confortable with them. Why change, for then it smacks of, "did you make a bad choice before".

Back of the bus

Everybody move to the back of the bus

2007, year that intollerance takes full hold and gays move to the back of the bus

Ted Haggard proves that gays can be treated and changed into hetrosexuals -- a lie. Snickers gay commercial, pulled. Picketing and protesting won't give gays rights for much longer. What they need now is to go back to the closet for a while. I suspect that late this year they can emerge from the closet once again, but shouldn't have the first waves be flamers or in-your-facers.

more wonders of looking

After spending hours daily looking at postings, I can see which companies really go through people. I would suggest that there is growth, but I doubt it. Moreover, there are many companies that list a job several times each day for the same location. Is that desperation? I know that I got a first phone call from some of these companies and a couple called twice (2nd phone interview). It is hardly surprising that some fail to fill positions. Once, which will go nameless, had a "good ol' boy" and "we two are in charge" mentality. I guess a question should have been, "are you sitting on his lap?"

The worst thing for people needing/wanting positions is that there is a long wait between applying and getting a response. If you want my advice, always have a job.

I have found some intersting things interviewing and applying. You will be asked standard questions for which you might have a pat and quick response, unthoughtful which may not play well. Better still are questions for which you aren't prepared that truly remark who you are. My failure is with, "What don't you do well?" That to me, always seemed the double-edged sword. If you say, "thinkin'" or "associating with stupid people" does the interview essentially end? It is a reasonable, but painful question. What should I say?

Anyway, I know where I am weak, but would rather not have that held against me in a court of law or in a job. If the truth of my dissatisfaction dealing with dogmatic, stubbornly stupid people were to slip in an interview, the interviewer might suggest, "you're going to have to overcome that".

"We saw your resume'"

Yeah, right. I keep getting in my spam catching folder, "We found your resume' on [search engine here] and found that some of your experience/qualifications meet our needs", yadda yadda yadda. I look at the email, for I have more than one, and that is not the email I have with them.

Heck no! What a waste of time. This isn't a movie review, but rather a prediction. Movie is trash and forgettable.

Imagine Jim Carey and Jim Carey in some movie with a whole mess load of him, just him. How about a movie with just Robin Williams? End this idea of (apply coefficient here) Eddie Murphy in movie named Nutty Barbershop Mansion Norbit.

He's cured

Boy ... here comes the crap just dropped in the fan.

Ted Haggard got therapy for his gayness. I'm okay and not gay now. Boy, that's going to do wonders for society. You see ... you're gay, but with therapy, we can get that gayness under control. Now with talk therapy and Gaynomo (TM), those suffering with homosexuality can be cured of that wicked disease.

The DSM III listed homosexuality as a disease, while the DSM IV did not. There are schools of thought on both, but it has been the prevailing idea being gay is not a disease. This Haggard person in the spotlight undoes all of that. Now, back nearly to square one, homosexuals have an uphill battle.

I personally state, if you are gay, then you are. If you are bi-sexual, then you are gay. I don't regard it as a disease for many people do gay things, act gay, and engage in homosexual acts for many reasons. One, it is trendy to bend the rules, including sexual bounds. To do gay things, smiling all the way ... to be trendy, you can't then respond, "I'm not gay." You are.

Science, tricky stuff

When I taught, I tried to encourage kids to experiment. Often, what you were required to teach was scripted and measured. True science is creativity, messy kid stuff, a keen interest to find out what you don't know and the willingness to suffer setbacks. Now, the science kits they have at school are nice, but generally speaking, they are not designed for kids to dive in, be a mess from head to toe, then doing it again. While sending home gooey, messy, filthy kids is intolerable to most parents -- there's where science is.

I saw an interesting video on iambored with dry ice and soap. There were some people quite notable for the Youtube diet coke and mentos. This is science. It is a series of calculated risks with questions wanting answers. Take, for instance, a child on a swing. The first part is, how to swing. Once that is mastered, a person might want to find out how to swing slowly, high, spin, and many other novel concepts. This is science. I fear that many people are not given the latitude to experiment with things to be smarter and wiser.

Now, that is not to say that if you find a scar-heavy person that s/he is smart, but rather science-smart people generally have a history of doing, sometimes having no safety protocols. This, of course when young, might make some candidates for Darwin Awards or reckless people. When you have average intelligence people doing dangerous things with large materials involving others, is when you have more casualties. "Hey y'all, watch this", is a catchphrase for those about to die.

When I was a kid, I wanted to know what happens when you mix chemicals together. I wanted to know what accelerated and retarded fire. I wanted to know directionality and causality, the height I could climb and the height I could fall. I learned how to fall so that I hurt myself less severely. Despite my roughhousing, boyish destruction and rowdiness, I have never broken a bone. While useless in a practical sense, I learned how to mix flammable and non-flammable ingredients to hold fire in my hand without getting burned.

Science can hurt, but it requires experimentation.

Random words perhaps?

"anthony ! mugging it's histrionic in schlitz it's redwood see lanthanide" was the title to a spam message I didn't open. Now, If you are trying to get people to open a message, try English. Better still, trying English phrases or sentences that entice the person to read the spam message.

I like my "final solution" better still ... stop sending spam.

posted protest

Below is a well-shared email denoting many people's displeasure as to the government's weak work on illegal immigration. While this letter touts authenticity and that a woman wrote the best editorial, it was not the best editorial. I cleaned up the grotesque blatant English errors. While the all-capitalized words show yelling, it is pointless. The other very typical poor English and even poor literature inclusion was the double punctuation of "?!" and "!!". While I am dissatisfied with the falsehood it claims to be an editorial, which it wasn't and isn't, it has some valid points.

It underscores the unequal protection under the law. It notes where law should be applied, it isn't. It smacks of the application of bad law in robbers suing businesses and homeowners for injuries incurred during robberies. I included this post because it regards the sentiment of many legal immigrants and natural born citizens. I did not bother worrying about correct paragraphs or pagination.

...........
A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.
Her point: recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the U.S. might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I’m hardworking and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters, you are required to let me stay in your house. You are required to add me to your family's insurance plan. You are required to educate my kids.
You are required to provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hardworking and honest, except for that breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hardworking and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house. And what a deal it is for me!
I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I demand that you to learn my language so you can communicate with me. Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?

Scamtronics

Are you tired of watching TV, not reading, talking or thinking? Thanks Not Necessarily the News and for those who upload the videos. Now, there are many TV series that shouldn't be put onto DVD, but they are. This series, I haven't seen on DVD, but would likely sell well.

cold

I helped the folks transport frozen food from the freezer to outside -- for it was cold enough. I was outside for five mintues without gloves and I nearly got frostbite. Yikes! While lovely, bright and shiny, the weather is wickedly cold. I don't think that it will get warm for some time. The freezer was defrosted and it was done in a couple of hours.

Don't Know Much

"Don't Know Much About History" is well worth hearing or reading. You may disagree with some of it. It is disheartening, disturbing, yet starkly refreshing. It is a more complete picture to fill in gaps in your forgotten history. Americans tend to do poorly on history reviews, so this might remind you and fill in missing pieces. It isn't too bad and I liked it. Of course, I like non-fiction, which helped.

Taxes

I didn't make much money, but it appears that my return will be okay. I didn't use Turbo Tax, for last year they screwed me ... where I should have paid $20, they charged me $70, so I said ... skip them! I tried Tax-Cut courtesy of H&R Block, but it wouldn't work. They gave me suggestions on how to get it to work, but it didn't do anything. So, I went with another company suggested or directed by IRS. It was a little faster than last year.

Putting out cigarettes ... my kind of game. I have yet to win.

Rap Lexicon

I had a totally stupid partial song in my head. It got me thinking of a retort. 50-Cent did a "song" called Candy Shop. Boy, oh, boy! Yeah, I bet there are a load of ladies that would clamour of some flake calling out to them that they get the dream, no the privilege to felate him. Yeah. That's got to be a winning line with the ladies, right? Hey, you get to **** me. Now, were I try say that, I'd get slapped, arrested and sued. I wouldn't say for the mere reason that it is rude.

The lyrics stemming from, "the pleasure's all mine" is all too typical for rap. To make an effective rap song you need: background beats much like a jack-in-the-box for 3-5 minutes. You need breaks in that, mixed with two separate, but equal 2-20 second samples of music that you didn't make. It is also important that you shun conventions of education and use urban language and spellingz and be completely incapable of reading music or know instruments by sight, let alone use them.

When crafting a song, make sure to use a colorful mixture of self-serving sexual monologue, megalomania, a real and imagined item list of things you own, how you can kill and have done so to get to your high place, a river of profanity, and include the word God or Jesus somewhere so you can say, "look, I'm Christian". What I find interesting in America is that while there are many populations of people in the Nation of Islam, you don't hear too many songs on the radio with rap lyrics and "Go, Muhammad go" or "praying to Mecca makes me ...".

In rock's history of development there were the typical growing periods where it started out raw, bad, terrible sometimes, but learned and grew into a varied and somewhat cultured expression. Rap, having fewer years is still young, and in many ways regressing. When lyrics of "kill hooker", "dump body on street" (Eazy-E) was hot in the early 90s, you have "do whatever the **** I want" and putting a "cap in dat [long-winded profane term and ending phrase]", "made my money on crack and hos" rap clearly isn't developing. Maybe, I'm wrong.

Maybe this is the theme for rap ... kill, gain, self, proclaim, sell, soul-less

I like music and would like to see rap, an interesting mix of repeated beats and some odd sampling, turn out something good, memorable, that you might want your children to hear. Shooting people, pimping, drug selling, weapons, stepping on people to get where you are ... is that want you want your children hearing as they grow in a society that is growing more intolerant?

Dear rap "musicians", wake up, think ... start writing lyrics that matter. So few rappers even put together their own music, so their contribution is lyrics ... the one and only thing they do. You have time then to make good lyrics. Make them!

Snickers commercial

That was gross! Gross! Gross! Guys share food, a cylindrical object between their mouths. They did something manly. What they needed to do was something straight, not "manly". Quick! Club each other with large wrenches to remove the memory!

That's manly! Gross, gay, do not press play! How about Emerald's commercial with Goulet?

Superbowl at Mr's

Well, MR treated me to beer and pizza. The before game show was Colts-centric, but perhaps the previous 2 hours were Bears-centric. I don't know. The show introduced by Gloria Estafan required the TV viewers to be on LSD. The halftime show was, welll, as expected unentertaining. I really wonder about the throng of people who ran up to the stage. Many were so young, I doubt they knew Prince.

Well the game was good, the first fourteen seconds I thought showed exactly how the game was going to be, but it was a fluke. Within minutes, Indy looked like a team ready for a beating. It was a grim day for the Colts fans. The rain came down throughout the game. Even the hawkers of overpriced goods hid from the rain. The second quarter came up and through that there were turnovers after turnovers. The Colts then began to score.

Obviously by games's end, the Colts demonstrated that they were a tough team and not the squeakers-by that I claimed they were. They showed a faithless person such as myself that Indy could win a superbowl. I couldn't believe this team that tumbled the ball away, denying a field goal and Manning throwing so many bad passes -- three in a row that could have been interceptions. One was caught by the Bears.

Manning getting MVP for the Superbowl game ... I disagree with that. Granted, the short passes won the game, but his bad throwing at the start, I think should have prevented MVP status. When the turnovers are high, look for a receiver to get the MVP.

After all the hype and fluff and pomp and circumstance you have the awards and you have a feeling-neglected puppy plain full of it wanting to play, and so she did. Chase the ball, chew the toy, run around, bite the sweeper. Fun, fun, fun. MVP goes to Maia.

Thanks MR for the pizza, beer, and surprising game where I was wrong and the Colts won.

Comfortable

Maia looks at ease here ... for she is at ease. She's resting up for the playtime after the Superbowl

Taking off to the Great White North

What were these birds thinking? Go to Indiana, while it's bitter cold? That's just nuts!

Shame on me

I didn't believe in the Colts and thought they would lose. They taught me, other faithless persons, and the Bears. They really did win! They didn't squeak by, but finished with nearly a two-touchdown gap. Gratulations Colts, I didn't think that you could do it!

Dungy did it very well! This will undoubtedly give Indiana a reason to make Hoosiers II, the other underdogs.

We've got Rudy, Hoosiers and maybe Indiana will host the Superbowl sometime. Wouldn't that be special?

scores

My mom was reading Parade magazine and mentioned to me that "This Britany Spears' son, Shawn, had bruises on his head and so CPS were called." Now, my stance is that if your applicable IQ looks like a good golf score, you should not be in charge of anyone else. Conversely, if your applicable IQ looks like a great bowling score, then you could be in charge of other people.

I use the term applicable, because there is a big difference between intelligence and applied intelligence. If you mix in common sense, you have at least three intelligences there. Letting your child run along a very busy highway, in one case I-465 around Indinapolis where goes travel 80 mph on average, is a sign you should not be in charge of others. This person's laziness and stupidity doesn't measure with IQ testing. Some of the more famous starlets and entertainers are like really pretty play-doh. They aren't thinkers, like you and I think, and are quickly molded into whatever the viewers want.

Let's examine Tom Cruise ... arrogant, pushy, bizarre, and stupid. I will stand by "stupid" because if you buy into, literally, Scientology, then you are a sucker. Now, religion (snicker) aside, if you have to buy into a religion, that's an investment. I would submit, investment scheme, for it protects itself like the Marcos family ... 10,000 shoes, pampered, despots, yet well funded and self-serving. I doubt that 50% of the scientologists ever read the book, which is much shorter than the Dianetics novel of old. I think of them as Yuppie Moonies or bankroll neo-quasi-buddhists. They are so far from right (in this case meaning "correct"), they revolve once and return to the same spot.

Let's examine those who follow Cruise's example, you get a child-like bride, then when she starts looking adult, you dump her and get a new bride. Huh. I wonder if Trump is a Scientologist too. This new bride "buys into" the schtick and another buys the rust.

To return to my point on scores, I know after taking some stupid IQ tests that I range from 100 - 140. I'll write that I am probably at 100 IQ, for what that's worth. I might even be lower than 100, I just don't know. While I know that there are certainly people smarter than me, and people should be getter smarter ... society produces a bumper crop of plain old stupid. Darwin awards aren't just for hicks anymore.

One-Minute Manager

Good Grief! The first twenty minutes was a waste, unless you're stupid. If you needed that, then you aren't a manager, period. It turns out that I taught like this. Who knew it was a book?

DUI, DWI, why, oh why, oh me, oh my

FW posted its stats on DUIs and showed Indianapolis as a contrast/comparison. If you will note that FW has more arrests and more fatalities. I would note here that FW police, while I have some misgivings about their efficiency, have done a great job arresting people. That many arrests with a smaller force and a smaller population is a very commendable effort. I'd say cheers to FWPD for their successes, not failures. FW has a great number of "watering holes" where the tenders don't much care how much you imbibe, as long as you're off the property by close. These same places have generally cash receipts that are not tracable. Who's to blame -- the drinker, but the establishment catches blame too.

With DUIs on the rise, it's worth mentioning that DUI is a blanket term for drugs, alcohol and others. FW has the sad fate of needing a strong police force. This city is a HUB and center for drug distribution from Chicago, Detroit, Indy, Toledo. We are not in a pretty situation for drug enforcement. "We need more men"+ I don't know how many people will read this and continue or start a foul relationship with the police, but I think they are doing a noble and successful job with DUIs.

What a surprise that would be, both it being winter and that it would be sold for consuption. If it were fried and dipped in chocolate, it could be a lego and some people would eat it. This creation was sguary, with soft, chewy interior, but was expensive.

Happy New Year, pigs

February 18th this year is the New Year for many people. I was not born under this sign, so no joy, no worries. I believe that Carrie, ISJ, Cerpicio, Monkeyjack were born during one of these years. Huh! Whatcha know 'bout dat?

I am a rooster, but what I read on one site lacked my boostfulness that I have--regretably and my creativity.

The character above is, "peace"

Here come the judge now

What's in a name

I saw on job postings a name of a company with "profits" in it's name. Well then. I saw what is typical of high volume, high pressure jobs, "generate sales" with the hidden (lots of them hourly), through your Hollywood index of millions of willing investors. Make lots of money, money, money for the company, company, company. In the scheme of things, generally these high volume, high pressure jobs truly work for only two personalities:

energetic, aggressive, slighly pressuring, sales person who sees everyone as a buyer with the right prompting.

or
energetic, sociopathic, aggressive, tromping salesperson who sees money to be had, regardless the cost; losing friends and family in the process is immaterial.

The less successful sales people either falter, skim by, or find that they aren't the first so temporarily act like the second. Me? I couldn't sell stuff to people who don't need it. I would Airplane+ process aggressive salespeople. I am not a pressuring type of guy, so I despise when others charge at me like starving people to a buffet.

+ Airplane, going through the airport Peter Graves is confronted by Moonies, solicitors of all types, wanting money and patronage to groups. He uses karate and judo to floor them all.

Winter isn't gone

Today, 30-40 mph shifting winds, fluries, single digits. The Groundhog seeing or not seeing its shadow doesn't mean squat. Today it is cold, wintery and snowy. Winter is clinging on to life here and isn't going to pass without a strong fight.
