potentially good news

Mum might leave hospital tomorrow (Thursday) -- maybe, but will have a permanent change in meds now

I may be with the class a bit longer, as the teacher has not been released to go to work.

Leaving in a hurry

I was walking the kids out to the bus today when one child decided to pull the fire alarm. Needless to say, most people were already near the exits or out of the school, but were informed within three minutes that there was no fire. I saw her pull the handle and she threw a fit being yanked back inside and to the office. She wouldn't go there for me and threw herself on the ground. The FD charges $400 per incident. They plan on sending the bill to the Mom. This same kid tried to steal a wallet sitting on a kid's desk, right in front of the whole class -- 1st grade. She'll be a winner for sure.

Tormentors

Equally bad as Harry Potter's dementors

He said, she said, in the middle of bickering -- signs says you got to have a membership care to get inside; huah!

"I'm not touching you", heard on Monday
Mr. ______________, [name exempted] is touching me.
Is he playing tag with you?
No. (dubious repsonse, as all five children ran off in same direction), earlier I was "base" despite my statements to the contrary.

Yell, scream, throw a fit -- understandable for 2-4, but 6 or 7, unsightly. Adults throw them too, but I'm interested in the students developing into adults ... from that school 86.4 some percent will make adulthood. On average, 80% will make it through adulthood. The US has a mortality rate < 50%, especially with illegal immigration and urban overabundance (lupus proclivity) or Rattus norvegicus (species variant A, not wild type), aka street urchin, social leech--may they all develop (not "lead poisoning"*1)

I know that I have felt like my soul's been painfully sucked from my being with some of the students, their families an their experiences. I used to donate to RAINN, but haven't had the money. Tori Amos, while no longer the best spokesperson for the organization, didn entice me to donate.

In somewhat related news, Notre Dame (catholic) has agreed, grudgingly to host Vagina Monologues, generally concerning women's issues, including incest and rape. Unlike Corpus Cristi (picece de gayiety) I rejoice in the school's introduction of this cathartic poetry and monologuing, for it serves a purpose. I was tempted to attend while it was in town, though it might send the message of "perv", I was interested in the work, the years or decades long expelling of old ... rejoicing in being a woman and refreshing of the self. I could have only assumed many things, but happy for their associate healing.

I suspect that this little boy will get the "holy" ______ [snot] beat out of him one day. I would guess 6th grade he'll get a beat down that he'll remember. Sad that he doesn't just drop the 'tude.

Getting a licence

for driving takes longer than a hunting licence. Does that make sense? I ought to walk down the road with a shotgun, hunting poor drivers' tires. I stopped in at one of the (only) three branches in this ruddy town!

The line stretched clear to Terra Haute. *

I said, "skip this" and hoped for a different way. I'll see if they have the ATM like units to do driver's licences. Yikes! I should not have to wait 90 minutes to do that!

* A Christmas Story

funtionality

Mum's in the hospital again ... this time, not critical. She was entered into the emergency room --- the thinking being that emergency room patients get rooms faster. I didn't see this in action. While I was at work, the folks were at hosptial 1 something. I left after 8:00 pm and still nothing. The pharmacy had some pokey or dopey people as she wasn't getting all her meds.

1-3 days later, we hope to see her again, free from the hospital.

Beetles battle in a bottle on a poodle eating noodles

I "sampled" Green Eggs and Ham and paid the penalty for it, in that in the middle of the narration it goes into the Sneeches, then back to Green Eggs and Ham. I'll have to fix it, but it was embarrassing. I had the read the remainder of the story, not then knowing that the rest of story was there. It was nice, the kids laughed a bit with my narration.
Now there's a neat little side adventure that I'd like -- narration for some petty cash.

Anyway, now I'm prepared!

I just watched the old animated Hobbit movie

and boy is my brain numb ... and my eyes are tired. I'll admit, I fast-forwarded through it, for it was ... obscenely bad. The songs they threw in it were cheesy, 70s and poorly executed. It was interesting that some of the group made Voltron and other 70s Japanese anime and the producers later made Charolette's web and are a staple company making Rugrats and other Nick toons as well as Cartoon Network. The animated movie was, slow slow slow slow slow slow slow. Snore!
I can't believe that the book would be like that, but then again the Lord of the Rings trilogy was not sprint race either, nor much of a marathon, more like a March on Dines ... slow and easy wins the pace (if anyone is watching).

Lifting up the squirrels

to a higher level ... oh, no, that's not what I was doing today. I lifted kids up to horizontal pole so they could climb hand over hand along the top to the end. I lifted many kids today. One of the few physical things I've done lately, my belly shows me how ROUND I am. Yikes! I think I'll skip eating as much.

Anyway, it was nice being out with the kids and lifting them up to play. Fun!

If I fail, I pick up the pieces and move on, whether I reassemble it or not. It's broken.

drum kit

or as Charlie likes to put (or putt putt putt) it ... he he he he he he he he he (tooting more and more with each and every laugh. He was winning Mario Smash Brothers and was tooting machine gun style! I'm happy that there wasn't a panic to use the restroom, but ... the toilet did get plugged, then filled with barf at the end of the evening. Poor toilet!

Wedding Black & White

I didn't film it in those colors, but that was the color scheme. It was great, in that it was short. I've experienced 2.6 hour weddings (two of my sisters' Catholic services with mass), my other sister's 45 minute version, but this one was cut to the chase! That's what it should be! Monkeyjack's and Lori's I believe was 33 mintues -- a good wedding, nothing painfully long or long-winded.

The stepfather to the bride sang the Lord's Prayer ... an interesting and 'unique' idea.

The reception was quick -- no dancing, as it was held at the church, the background music was ambiance (rainforst). I got a tip, which was great, as I wasn't expecting it.
+++
After that I met up with Monkeyjack & family and watched Charlie while they bowled. We had a good time, including finding worms and ants. Connie nicely gave Lori tickets to the circus, which she and Jeff would not attended. They seem like good, honest neighbor's with a sense of humor! Later Connie and Jeff walked over to chat. Jeff spoke about a customer who had serious damages done to home and furnishings due to an incompetant (or tired and drunk -- speculative) employeed who maliciously and carelessly damaged unique items in a person's house, installing a piece of furniture. Yikes! He also said that the company, through some nepotism, may very well shield this wrecking ball of a schmuck.

Anyway ... the cake was nice .... photos I hope reveal that and much of it was eaten. I was surprised as Lori and Monkeyjack were cutting the cakes ... they almost couldn't keep up with the demand from a <100 group at the reception. I didn't eat any of the cake, but it was obviously exceptional.

Also funny was the irony of: 3-4 Marks being there, so saying or shouting "Mark" wasn't fruitful for getting one person's attention.

Also, the bride and groom had the first names of myself and ex ... it was, distrubing on my mind, momentarily.

Easter 2006 punctuality unimportant?

I, with the folks, were late. My sister and bIL (brother in law) were there on time, yet we ate without the other family who was ... late.
I spent most of my time talking with Jim while we worked on ice cream that my sister (her house) insisted that we have. She also left, leaving us to do dishes (every holiday she does this) -- it peeves me! Look! I've cooked for lots, then cleaned what mess I made. My sister cooks, then leaves the ten thousand dishes for others ... rude!

Anyway ... it was okay, not fights, battles and we pretty much had a good time, not very Eastery though, but I didn't go to church, so I guess I missed out on that part.

It would appear that my neice and her boyfriend are quite close -- great! He seems to be a nice kid, with a Mark Hamill appearance, for lack of a better analogy. Most of the kids there were old enough that no mention of baskets were made, though I'm sure that there were pounds of candy everywhere. It was also my understanding that my neice was "ill" on Monday, not going to school. I find it likely that it was self-induced illness (candy overconsumption perhaps ... or the old COP* out).

May the sacrifice of the one, be to the joy of many; not of the loss, but of the gain -- herein, salvation!

In what country are we? Were are the feuding and gun-firing congress now to stomp out the oil barrons, the communication barrons of the 00's, as aposed to the railroad barrons of the 90s-10s?

The turn of the century, the millenium, and still we have barrons of communication and energy. Still, we have plantations of tobacco the government tags as cancer causeing and dangerous, yet the government subsidizes these farmers to produce a toxic product. Huh?

Schools failing to meet certain scholastic criteria are closed and the students sent to "water down" other schools otherwise meeting the scholastic standards. Is that really helping?
Schools are integrated, but there are fewer adults in the buildings and there are fewer "discipline options" and really funding prevents opportunities to "good" students.

The citizens call out impeachment much like recount, recall and free fries. Bush impeachment ... why? Bill, liar, I could see, but Bush has done nothing impeachable. He has done many, many, many publicly denounced actions, but nothing illegal, as it were. My tangent would be the authorization to enter Iraq, but that is another story. One man cannot force the actions of so many. Orders, if faulty or stated from a powerless position may be ignored. A private directing superiors to attacks don't make it happen and a general directing the army to fire upon itself doesn't fall under the category of punishable of "not following orders"

In a small story, the local paper ackowledged that a school applied common sense to a policy and didn't suspend or expell students for exchanging and dispensing cough drops (under broader interpretation a drug, therefore dispensing of drugs is suspendable / expellable offense). Yay for them for uing that matter incased in their skulls.

Western Digital takes licking

and starts rattling. I believe that the drive is spinning, but the USB connection in the unit -- popped off. It had all my music, but I'll seek a cheparer (or faster) way than the overcharging Geek Squad for data transfer from working drive to working drive. Let's see. hook up drive, 10 minutes. Dump data from bad drive to new drive -- simple, start and it'll finish when its done. Is that work? It certainly sounds like charging for 5 - 10 minutes. They're prices for that are more like lawyer fees.

picking candidates

like picking your nose is gross, limitedly productive and leaves you unclean. Moreover, like 47 other states, I must "declare" a party for the primary (buffoon selection 1) and elect under vice secretary to the assistance tax assessor treasurer of a county. Does the party matter then ... do they earn much ... no and no. I can't believe that they have much of a budget. I do, however expect deception from a candidate, whose supporters can finance a whole billboard on a main thorofare.

Another bad ad campaign (flyer) I read had a vision statement ... poorly done and bad idea.

How about a nice little questionaire for all persons on the ballot? Include on this pre-entry exam: understanding of job for which s/he is petitioning, specific listing of relevant experience, kinetic / dynamic / static perspective (change of satus quo and capability to do so, improvement of self and trickle down to all tangents, keeping the status quo).

I don't know more than I know on any of these people. I can thankfully say that I don't have any affiliates to which I owe favors when voting. I still feel disenfranchised, stripped of power and intentionally held ignorant, yet belittled if not exercising (not performing) voting in this runners up circle event known as primaries.

I feel equally poor at the official voting in fall.

and so there I was holding the bag

blankity blank blank blog

I feel like a southern task master ... picking on the ethnically different ... it's really based on behavior, but it grates on me that I give the appearance that I'm a racist with my usual suspects for punishment. With this class I also seem to "select" males for punishment more often than females. I try to be impartial and fair, but I feel that it never looks that way. It haunts me -- man of the sheet not the cloth. I know that I'm not, but I think that it appears otherwise.

You may have

the blood of Christ (which happens to be alcohol), but you may not dance. Huh? If your religion defines lines that are counter to your thining, you must either:
accept the teachings or
accept your opinions.

Does dancing lead to sex? Especially for the bride and groom. Isn't that the procreative function of the relationship and Catholically writing, the way to get more Baptists? Dancing leads to more congregation ... hmmmmm ... the _____ church hosts the Welcome "new (prenatal) Baptists.
