I work with a guy on some days, who's leaving his town for the booming metropolis of FW to attend school here. He already has plans/apartment near the school, but no job. I asked around and found the MR knew of some jobs where he works -- manual grunt work, but work nonetheless.
While this guy isn't guaranteed anything, it's nice to know that there is opportunity here and that he might get "lucky" early on while here.
Thanks MR for helping him, for what it's worth.
Unlike my nephew here in FW who needs work, I asked about this other guy who has strong work ethics and who will do the job very well -- perhaps.
Thanks again!
I asked Monkeyjack, but ... summertime is phase out time for his hires, so no luck there ... bummer.

Accussed
Iran charges an Iranian-American with espionage. Yeah, she was selling the US secrets on Iran's technology ...
ha ha ha ha ha
Yep, after 700 years, the "religion" is still corrupted and corrupt, and her attempts to sell the secrets of subjegation, mistreatment, violence, ignorance will not go unpunished.

waving ham in his hand
a poorly cut chunk of ham was much like half a [male member's more notable external part], but it raise a great deal of humor as apparently, it was a "smart" thing to wave it as groin level. He also shook it and called to people to see his discovery. 'Playing with his ham at work' is not how you'd like to be remembered.
I've got a nickname, thankfully it has nothing to do with playing with his own ham.

tides ebb
At work, when the business will eventually pick up, the teens are leaving like migratory birds. Well, no wonder! Anyway, I was thinking about the actual "management" side of things and have some ideas on retaining quality persons for as long as possible until they go do something real with their lives. In one case, a great guy is leaving for college. I certainly wouldn't postpone that, but I would try to find a way to get him work where he's going. He's coming to my hometown. After two years with the compnay, he discovered the disparities in persons and the somewhat ambiguous promotions and salary increases and caps. For this reason, he was certainly disinclined to seek re-employment with the company at a FW branch.
He's a good man, sad to see him go. It will be great to see him accomplish his goals, even if they change from what he wants to do now.
I see things at work in terms of efficiency, and more utilization of personnel. I have also seen the too-laborsome process for inventory and cash control. While it may be the one, "best" method, it's too long and stupid to be efficient. I will submit in writing, on a time when I can/am willing to dedicate hours to inventory strategies. I still plan to seek another place, but will get at high on the ladder as I can before I go.

Thanks, honest

In respect and thanks to all those who have served, anywhere. Memorial, thankfully to those who've lived too.

Work shows
what I'll be having for a while --- crap. Since that is the case, I have to decide whether to take it or to start looking again. I'll do both, methinks.

What's red?
Blood on food .... bad idea. I cut my finger, deeply and noticed seconds after that, despite my best pressure on the wound, bloop
pitch that one.
I patched it up and then donned a glove and found a new cut activated when I did other cleaning.
Today's word was, "ouch"!

Angry again
Well ... I'm trying to find housing closer to work -- with no success. I found one place, but at $625 for 2 bedrooms and no carport --- that's too much money. The internet is not especially helpful this time.

hotel stay
I got a room at a hotel -- midway between work and "home". I had some studying to do. It was both a good and bad choice. I caught a cold and feel unwilling to study and didn't need to spend the money, but ... I can leave later from here to get to work on time. I'll decide how good or bad of a decision it was later.

high-speed connection
my "sampled" one is lost to me now. In 2 weeks, I'll have another one, but until ... my visits and posts will be scattered. I tried to patch together (grimance) dial-up, but nope ... that was not working either. So ... It was dead.
I'll try to get a chance Saturday to zone and do some more work, until then ...

Metropolis woman
Hey! I was wondering if you all have any specials?
Yeah, we have a special running on pulling metal out of your face.
Yuck! So, you put enough metal in your face to deflect bullets and you do so to attract attention and expose your wonderful beauty?
That's so gross. The stereotypical mid-desert African tribespeople don't look as freakish, despite those peoples' preference for bizarre wonders like elongated necks, expanded lips and lobes, charcoal and feces impregnated tattooing aren't quite as side-showish as some of these piercing nutjobs I see.
If found dead, they could be recognized without the flesh due to the one pound of odd assortments of facial metal. There's a trend that I'd like to see vanish.

Rain, rain down on me now
Phil Collins is to blame ... well, maybe not.
The rivers are high and are going to get higher. The lowland areas are going swimming next week. I again refer to my entries regarding the poorly-named, hundred-year flood.
It holds as much water as a functional gutter.
