Jeff, Paula, Josh have adventures of grandeur, meanwhile I have only my delusions of grandeur. That's the luck of the draw I suppose.

I hope the three of them are having a good, safe time!

I was asked

Thank you Worth1000 for the original work.

Ha! You missed; my turn

"I'm pretty good at ducking, as most of you know," Bush joked, adding quickly that "I'm talking about ducking your questions."
Any number of times President Bush stumbled over his own words. Now he got it just right.

Throwing a shoe at the President of the United States? That's wrong in so many ways. I'm just hoping one-shoe wonder hobbles back to disrespect.

Jeff, Paula, Josh didn't just fly up for the 2 hours to join us for the party. Well, Joshua apparently had enough jetlag -- no was no.

Kung-Fu Panda. It wasn't a great movie, but it was worth watching once. Sometime later I will watch it again. It has a thirty-something percent re-watchability factor. There were a good effects and not crude humor as common as it was in Shrek. Most kids would wear out the DVD player on this movie.

So the UAW doesn't want to lower pay or sacrifice anything. Huh, go figure! I am thinking that if cumupance works -- jobs will be lost and the UAW will about fold.

So, here's to you oh backward UAW -- may you rest well knowing that you might ensure the failure of the auto industry as well as yourself. Salut!

Conspiracy number da da da

As a scientist, I'm both fascinated and astonished by the deluge of questions from people who are genuinely frightened and, apparently, unable to distinguish astronomical fact from fiction. They're watching YouTube videos and visiting slick Web sites with nothing in their skeptical toolkit, or to quote Carl Sagan no "baloney detector." Now a blockbuster disaster film called "2012" is set for release in the summer of 2009, and the commercial enterprise is clearly trying to cash in on people's concern (perhaps contributing to their fear as well).

We're all gonna die from Planet X. Boy, now that's a complex name.

So, if you read on Nibiru and the aliens, sorry Scientologists, you're still wrong even with aliens, you'll found out we will be conquered. again.

Supposedly aliens popped on over to Earth when it was closer and grabbed some homo-erectus and fused alien DNA making -- homo sapiens. Why? They needed a work force to dig for gold.

Now, let me get this straight: apart from the obvious, it's wrong factor, let me go logically

aliens have the capability of much-easier than we do planetary travel. They are skilled enough with genetics to impart smartness onto the dumber primates. They can't build probes and robots?

Dumb old humans can send probes to Mars to take soil samples and analyze them. We can build machines and robots to dig deep into our own planet. We can't manage interplanetary travel and we don't know enough about genetics to do much more than tinker with bio-luminescence. Where is the logic in superior beings who can't make machines?

I'm thinking the conspiracy theorists are getting dumber.

For Mike

"The Obvious Answer: Again we must refer to the scientific phenomenon called People Making Up Bullshit."

It's not just for politics anymore. When pushed into a corner like Stevens ... lie.

Hisspurr Anderson

Agent Smith:
As you can see, we've had our eye on you for some time now, Mr. Anderson. It seems that you've been living two lives (opposed to my nine). In one life, you're Thomas A. Anderson, program writer for a respectable software company, you have a social security number, you pay your taxes, and you help your landlady carry out her garbage. The other life is with vermin, where you go by the alias Neo and are guilty of virtually every crime we have a law for. One of these nine lives has a future, and one of them does not.
I'm going to be as forthcoming as I can be, Mr. Anderson. You're here because we need your help. We know that you've been contacted by a certain individual, a man who calls himself Mouseus. Now whatever you think you know about this man is irrelevant. He is considered by many authorities to be the most dangerous man alive. My colleagues believe that I am wasting my time with you but I believe that you wish to do the right thing. We're willing to wipe the cat box clean, give you a fresh start (with Fresh Step) and all that we're asking in return is your cooperation in bringing a known rodent to justice.

Neo:
Yeah. Wow, that sound like a really good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give catnip ... and you give me my phone call.

Agent Smith:
Um, Mr. Anderson. You disappoint me.

Neo:
You can't scare me with this Gato crap. I know my rights. I want my phone call.

Agent Smith:
Tell me, Mr. Anderson, what good is a phone call if you're unable to speak.... You're going to help us, Mr. Anderson whether you want to or not.

Cat's got his tongue...

No money to Gaza. Here you go. If you want money, kill Hamas, period. It's not complex like, "Please stop Hamas from firing weapons at us." It's quick. "I'll use small words so that you will be sure to understand me."+

I can only hope that backward leaders get the picture and purge the terrorist groups.

God's work

While, I myself am displeased that I don't get instant gratification, it appears that God has worked hard on helping a friend of mine get a real job. He stands a good chance of working for the USDA on conditions that he finish up his degree while working. He has 1 or more years of college work done, mostly gen. ed., but certainly it is a great opportunity.

He was grieving the loss of his close grandfather who was a good and inspirational man. As one door closes, another opens.

"Thanks. Gramps is pulling some strings for me here."

Love is not wasted.

Hanrooster

Will Smith is . . .

in nearly as many movies as Samuel L. Jackson.

Hancock; prepare for special effects and nothing-special acting or story. Uh, good ideas thrown together into a clump of coal for Christmas. Why not intro a personality turn-around yielding one and ONLY one hero? There were enough inconsistencies that it was bothersome.

One other little Easter Egg in the movie -- when the tornadoes are ripping apart the city, there is a too-tall man walking. perhaps a hint at a tangent story line.

Hancock, watch once. I think about Powerpuff Girls where the city of Townsville is torn asunder daily by monsters and the city manages to put it together again with what money? Movie too was cartoonish.

3 for the price of 3

I got to see a choir concert (love of my life's daughter) on Tuesday, teach parallel parking. On Wednesday, my niece turned 21, but doesn't like the taste of alcohol. That's good for her. Thursday, I drove with the love of my life to see her daughter baptized. It was held in a youth-oriented church center. Summarized: church for kids.

It was a long trip there and back. 5 hours each way doesn't sound bad until you drive it. I-70 was very boring.

Google suggested 30 to 69 to 465, that was right. It was WAY OFF with suggesting 70 through Indy. That was congested and wasteful. We avoided that on the trip back. Sadly, there was a slow state patrol car slowing everyone down. We finished our trip at 2 am. We were tired.

We were hard-pressed to find a place to change, however the church had large restrooms and we changed there. Thank God for that!

It's a good thing I don't miss sleeping.

option C

Automakers offered another option, B to prevent bankruptcy. The US should offer option C:

Cash out of Union, thus making the Union bankrupt, alter salaries to make automakers competitive and realistic, sell all present not-selling cars at a HUGE discount cutting warehousing and taxes.

2 can play at that game

atheists want God out of D.C., which is kind of funny for I think God wants them out of D.C. Kentucky, where they use the term D.C. for that's the best of their spelling.
