I found an ammo case chained to a tree remotely located in a patch of trees next to chest-high grass. It was an interesting find.

This is probably the "treasure" that people leave for GPS hunts. Of course, you found it without the GPS and without signing up on the internet. After they find the treasure using a hand-held GPS and coordinates from the internet, they replace it with something else for the next person to find... and so on and so forth.
