Not the evil clown creature of Stephen King, but rather:
Trying to approach a couple of kids during their recess time and their mad dash scurrying away from me --"Ah! (giggle giggle giggle)"
I wound up playing tag and was again reminded of how out of shape I am. They were hanging on me at times so the "it" could tag me. Other times they would herd around me like hungry pigeons saying "Me!" "Can't touch me!" "Tag me!" and so on
It was a good time that earned me a "higher" status with them, rather than mediocre tyrant who likes control and less noise. It was well worth it in the end.
Typically, there were several injuries on the playground, unrelated to tag and a couple of times running -- shoes flying off feet because they weren't tied. This is a typical "fashionable" thing to have -- like basketball shoes untied (Sadly, never credited to Run DMC). I remember doing that in the 80s.
Gradually degenerating into ignorance and complacency.
