growing problem

So, a couple of months ago, this number was under 400. I thought with that trend it might be around 300 for the rest of the time, but no.

The known spam folder is bursting again with spam. This represents only a week of spam. I can't imagine what it would look like if I turned off the auto spam filter.

more found on an odd number

512 225 3050 is a respository for recorded messages. There are domestic abuse messagesa and more. I won't be calling this number, but am no pretty sure that it is a simplified however clever automarketing tool. Whereas other systems call out to people, this one finds people online, generates an email to them, then expects the person to call and listen. I guess it ensnares many people. I got this message some time ago and didn't act on it, not wanting to spend 45 minutes on a long distance call, just listening. What's the point? If I were talking and more over dealing with a person, then --- I might do it or consider doing it. This online-telemarketing panhandling irks me. This kind of crap should be shut down.

What I got and what I found

Dear [my name],

Training Conference Call Facts and To Do list:
- The call will last about 45-60 minutes
- You should dial in to the call 5 minutes early. There will be some music while you hold for the call to start.
- During the lecture sections you will not be heard. Every 15 minutes or so, there will be a Q & A session which will allow you to ask questions.
- To ask a question, you will need to identify yourself by first name and city – such as “Peter from Tampa”
- Make sure you are in a place that is quiet with no distraction.
- Have a list of questions and mark them off as they are answered.
- Make sure you are able to be online during the call.
- There is a lot of information on the call so please take notes.
.............
So, I looked up the number and reverse lookup found that it was a "private number" from Texas
I did a google search and found the link. I find it strange that the one company that offered me the phone number wasn't listed on the webpage. Supposed a "news agency" was found my resume' online (with a dfiferent email address). Now, I know that's a tip off, but I wondered what company would set up a time for me to call long distance and listen to a lecture. How is this relevent to a job? I'm thinking -- 'invest in us, fool!'

Commercials c/o TBS

Maybe worth it, maybe not. Some funny, some not so funny

Bad choice

Bush appoints Christian family planning head, despite his belief that contraceptives are demeaning to women. Hmmm, draw your own conclusions there. I think this was simply stated.

Scholastic books on DVD

I watched the Slightly Scary Stories for Halloween. What's Under My Bed by James Stevenson was quite enjoyable. It was a demystifying tale. What was heard and seen always had a rational explanation as discerned by the children themselves. While the animation was choppy and the art lacking, the voices and work was good. It had a small element of thought in that the lamp held to walk through halls (obviously inappropriate for 20th century, but still intersting) cast light on the walls but almost nothing forward and back -- unlike many children's cartoons.

Teeny-Tiny and the Witch-Woman by Barbara Walker was a "scarier" story with a happy ending. The art here reminded me of Canadian/Toronto Broadcasting of the 70s and 80s. The animation was still a little choppy, but the characters were very well drawn -- all things considered. The concept of staying in a stranger's house not being a bad idea, was missed a little bit. Clearly, the cannibalistic witch was scary enough -- in that staying in strangers' houses is unwise, but I think the point was missed.

The videos were old, but freshly put on DVD, so the sound was weak and in mono.

By the Light of the Halloween Moon by Caroline Stutson is a book I remember in school. It was a progressive story, but not improved with lackluster animation. The story is clearly better read and not animated.

It doesn't work for me

Publishing in progress my foot! Wait, spin, wait, spin, wait, spin.

Bah!

After waitng a spell, I hit back; copy/pasted onto an email; sent it again.

I get this often. It bugs me.

400th time is the charm

That's okay, not everyone passing the bar the first time. I bet it was the second time.
Nope, sorry.
Three times a charm?
Not for me. The sixth time was the charm.

old chili cook off joke

Recently I was honored to be selected as an Outstanding Famous Celebrity in my Community to be a judge at a chili cook-off because no one else wanted to do it. Also the original personal called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table asking directions to the beer wagon when the call came. I was assured by the other two judges that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy, and besides they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted this as being one of those burdens you endure when you're an internet writer and therefore known and adored by all. Here are the scorecards from the event:

Chili # 1: Mike's Maniac Mobster Monster Chili

Judge one: A little too heavy on tomato. Amusing kick.

Judge two: Nice, smooth tomato flavor Very mild.

Kennedy: Holy smokes, what is this stuff? You could remove dried paint from your driveway with it. Took me two beers to put the flames out. Hope that's the worst one. These people are crazy.

Chili # 2: Arthur's Afterburner Chili

Judge one: Smoky (barbecue?) with a hint of pork. Slight Jalapeno tang.

Judge two: Exciting BBQ flavor, needs more peppers to be taken seriously.

Kennedy: Keep this out of reach of children! I'm not sure what I am supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich maneuver. Shoved my way to the front of the beer line. The barmaid looks like a professional wrestler after a bad night. She was so irritated over my gagging sounds that the snake tattoo under her eye started to twitch. She has arms like Popeye and a face like Winston Churchill. I will NOT pick a fight with her.

Chili # 3: Fred's Famous Burn Down the Barn Chili

Judge one: Excellent firehouse chili! Great kick. Needs more beans.

Judge two: A beanless chili, a bit salty, good use of red peppers.

Kennedy: This has got to be a joke. Call the EPA, I've located a uranium spill. My nose feels like I have been sneezing Drano. Everyone knows the routine by now and got out of my way so I could make it to the beer wagon. Barmaid pounded me on the back; now my backbone is in the front part of my chest. She said her friends call her "Sally." Probably behind her back they call her "Forklift."

Chili # 4: Bubba's Black Magic

Judge one: Black bean chili with almost no spice. Disappointing.

Judge two: A hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish or other mild foods, not much of a chili.

Kennedy: I felt something scraping across my tongue but was unable to taste it. Sally was standing behind me with fresh refills so I wouldn't have to dash over to see her. When she winked at me her snake sort of coiled and uncoiled-it's kinda cute.

Chili # 5: Linda's Legal Lip Remover

Judge one: Meaty, strong chili. Cayenne peppers freshly ground adding considerable kick. Very impressive.

Judge two: Chili using shredded beef; could use more tomato. Must admit the cayenne peppers make a strong statement.

Kennedy: My ears are ringing and I can no longer focus my eyes. I belched and four people in front of me needed paramedics. The contestant seemed hurt when I told her that her chili had given me brain damage. Sally saved my tongue by pouring beer directly on it from a pitcher. Sort of irritates me that one of the other judges asked me to stop screaming.

Chili # 6: Vera's Very Vegetarian Variety

Judge one: Thin yet bold vegetarian variety chili. Good balance of spice and peppers.

Judge two: The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions, and garlic. Superb.

Kennedy: My intestines are now a straight pipe filled with gaseous flames. No one seems inclined to stand behind me except Sally. I asked if she wants to go dancing later.

Chili # 7: Susan's Screaming Sensation Chili

Judge one: A mediocre chili with too much reliance on canned Peppers.

Judge two: Ho Hum, tastes as if the chef threw in canned chili peppers at the last moment. I should note that I am worried about Judge Number 3, he appears to be in a bit of distress.

Kennedy: You could put a hand grenade in my mouth and pull the pin and I wouldn't feel it. I've lost the sight in one eye and the world sounds like it is made of rushing water. My clothes are covered with chili which slid unnoticed out of my mouth at some point. Good, at autopsy they'll know what killed me. Go Sally, save yourself before it's too late. I've decided to stop breathing, it's too painful and I'm not getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air I'll just let it in through the hole in my stomach. Call the X-Files people and tell them I've found a super nova on my tongue.

Chili # 8: Helen's Mount Saint Chili

Judge one: This final entry is a good, balanced chili, neither mild nor hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge Number 3 fell and pulled the chili pot on top of himself.

Judge two: A perfect ending, this is a nice blend chili, safe for all, not too bold but spicy enough to declare its existence.

Kennedy: Momma?

nice beaver

He missed his head

A Dugger, Indiana man was fleeing police when he shot himself in the shoulder. He was sought in a rape and murder of two different victims. The police should have helped him out with his aim to make the pain go away.

New introductions, please

Now, that's great! I would disallow weapons in the court room, but beating the snot out of the man accused of killing your sister and neice and nephews--I'm all for that! Please, refrain from the beating until he's found gulity, then as he is "marched" along the corrodor you may pelt him with--whatever, as long as you don't hit anyone else. Clearly they had to legally arrest the people assaulting the felon, but say -- I like that idea.

Oops!

Meanwhile, the US has been sinking the ships. After the release of this information, the US has switched tactics and informed commanders that "sinking may not be necessary" and is to be considered not "first" and "only" option. The opposing viewpoint is that fewer ships have had the tamarity to leave ports for fear of sinking.

I can only hope that it doesn't sell

O J Simpson book, need I write more? The title eludes to him doing the crime, no conviction. I just hope that the bulk of readers have the good sense to not read it.

carry out Bandidos leads to praise

My neighbor was slowly walking to the drive on my approach from picking up dinner. He reported to me that some fool backed into him, while he was going out to pick up some food. Thankfully they called police and exchanged papers. What a mess! His car is badly damaged, but drivable. Actually -- I think my car looks more dented -- more to the point is that he was worried about the car. He wasn't sure if it could go into the garage. It wasn't that deformed, and it fit.

He hasn't had experience with filing claims, so in the end, he thanked "good ol' [my name]". How I got this reputation, I don't know, but it cheered me a bit on a low, low day.

fit

So, you're telling me, in a fit of disppointment you re-wrote your resume'?
That's right, but not just any resume' ... this one was special.

Dear employer,
How do I love employment? Let me count the ways. 1-1000, 2-1000, 3-1000, 4-1000 ...
obviously a resume' of this magnitude must be delivered in person.
........

Rape

The crime for which law makers tend to take pause and sometimes ignore. While there are cases of false allegations, charging, convicting and senetencing the guilty is -- in its teens if not toddling. Other nations don't recognize rape as a real crime such as India, fundamentalist Islamic run governments, France. I would address Africa, but governments don't last long there.

silly thing happened on the way to interview

My sister called me on my way into the building. She needed help spelling, "trajectory". I am a walking dictionary, I suppose.

Damn!

The more I think about my meeting today, the more I'm down. I paid for luxurious parking downtown where they have a booth and a guy, no guarantees. Parking, $2, but I didn't even get coffee. I got ripped.

Pay here

I met up with a company. They find people and place people, claiming not to be head-hunters. The fees are terrible! I will have to contact them to find out if they fees are "as they go" or all up front, or after you're placed. The "after you're placed" will work okay.

I thought not getting many interviews brought me low ... this made me feel really low.

Man sentenced to serve 36 life sentences

Well, that what should have been. Killing four cats, kittens specifically in a fire pit. Since there is the mythos of cats having nine lives, I offer this alternative punishment (as written above), thirty-six life sentences. He may, alternatively, allow himself to be cremated alive if that would be his preference.

Like "Hello", I got this!

There were errors.
Uh, huh. What kind of errors?

It reported that the archive didn't exist. Yeah ... that's an error.

remove Nazi logo ... why?

So, the company felt that putting out a racist shirt was okay, but hardcore lyrics were plain out! Yep. You can't listen to R or X-rated lyrics, but please ... wear this Mel Gibson approved apparel. Yeah ... getting rid of the shirts is a good idea. It might have been missed except for the number of people remembering Veteran's Day and thinking of all those who served and sacrificed for the nation and, quite literally, the world . For this reason, the shirts were pulled. The idea of a censorship leaning store favoring a negative direction -- not likely.

Of course, I'm sre there would be people wanting stormtrooper shirts removed even if they had the typical white uniform clones of George Lucas' creation.

In the end, somebody who couldn't draw a skull, found one on the internet and used it. Unknown to the person it was either a scan or a very good rendition of an SS used skull.

I cleaned out the gutters of my neighbor's house and got this. Now either I'm a golfer (like him) or I'm a chamber member. Cool, eh? As a chamber member, I could be seeking to remove the unwanted in society -- hint, it's a movie.

paraphrasing from (blecht) Fantastic Four, "Now imagine this ... all over my body". That's right. I went into the bushes trying to clean out the area pretty good and my sweatshirt bore these, as would my arms and legs -- as I resemble a bear more than anything else. Washing my sweatshirt removed about half of these, not all.

DOB: Jan 1, 1901. That would make me 105 years old, yes. I also live in Topeka, KS and have a California zip and a New Jersey area code. Hint: bugger off! When asked on a questionaire online -- no one has a right to know anything about me. I'm 600 years old for all that matters. I earned $1 trillion annually, have 3,000 children to 578 wives, own two houses.

Tip to online services: quit asking me to lie to you.

Beavis and Butthead, "huh hu-hu-hu-hu-hu-hu"
They said hard.

Yeah, hardening of arteries is what I call it from now on. I think I would have call it that in middle school, had I thought of it and had there been a point of reference for context.

raking fun

Elders and maple seeds "helicopters" seized the lawn this year. They fell late, after the massive winds, leaving the lawn brown with their being. They don't rake well because of their size. I used a blower and after 90 minutes, I felt I complete what I could, in the front. Yippee, what fun. Also, because of their size, the pile was very small next to the one-last-load of leaves I brought to the street on Sunday. Lawncare is tough, which is why there are so many lawncare services around. I didn't have to rake much this year, but boy this nightmare of maple seeds irked me. I'm glad I'm done with it.

In another job, the job required spacecraft design experience, but didn't require a degree. Yeah, that's always the case. rewatched Express

Murder on the Orient Express is a bit long-winded and a desperate attempt to match the introduction and writing style of Agatha Christie. While the star-studded cast was nice, acting okay, I forgot how much I didn't care for Albert Finny as Hercule Poirot, but that's okay. What was remarkable was that my father mentioned that he saw the movie, but it wasn't this version. Looking on IMDb, I saw nothing that he described as a murder in London with some other little bits. If there is someone who knows this "other" version, please let me know.

Sir John Guilgood played a butler. He had a larger role in Arthur, still a manservent. In 1974 Sean Connery was certainly no James Bond with very gray hair. Yikes, going back in for Never Say Die was a mistake.

My favorite line from the movie was when there was an interrogation of the passengers about a murder and a woman remarked that she knew a man was in the room, but didn't see him. When asked how she knew he was a man, she said (dismissing her 50's age) that she had known the wamrth of a few men.

"With your eyes closed (questioning)", was Poirot's quick response. So, Hercule has a sense of humor.

---- Spoiler! If you haven't read the book or seen the movie, read no further, thanks! ----
Returning to the 1974 movie, it was interesting the degree to which each character did the stabbing. Three of the characters did a spinning motion while the knife was in, widening the hole. Also, Anthony Perkins having a character with a strange attachment or detatchment to his mother was an allusion to Psycho, for which he was more famous.

phone blues

I was starting up the vehicle to get it warm, looking also for a belt extender. I found, to my surprise, a cell phone. My niece has lost or misplaced her repeatedly, so I guessed it was hers. I then thought, that it might have been one of her friend's. I called -- busy, called again, busy. I got the house finally and she warmly greeted me, almost tearing because the phone wasn't stolen, as she thought might have happened.

After dinner, I drove over to drop off the phone and she hugged me several times to thank me. She was reuinted with her phone. She was then again directed to continue with her chores. Cinderella went back to chores, but was happy to have the phone.

Chipmunk taxi service

I capture chimpmunks and relocate them in a park. Some years, I transport lots of them, some years, fewer. Today, I sense that they might seek to be moved. I drove one today, opened the cage. It leapt out, happy to be free passing through a line of bushes and trees; it turned and watched me, as if--"there's no fee, is there, cuz I got no money here."

I walked back to the car, none the financially richer, but happy that it has a better chance for a mate. Finding food may not be any easier there and this late in the year, stockpiling will be an emergency issue, but it's "safe".

Earlier in the day, birds told on the naughty squirrel. I would think that birds aren't that smart, but ... they beat against the window and sat in a line watching me from the front. What the? I thought instantly that they were out of food. I walked to the back and found a squirrel eating out of a feeder pulled to the ground. The birds had told on the squirrel. They are more like children than I believed.

I righted the feeder, filled the empty ones and put an obligatory pile of seed by a large tree. I find that donating to the squirrels makes them less likely to pester the birds and the feeders, as they have a more ready supply. That isn't always the case, as they have a heirarchy -- younger unestablished ones are of equal rank and don't battle. The others battle continuously over better picking areas.

So ... as adult, you serve nature, sometimes as a slave. I'm a host, food prep and taxi. I don't get paid for my services.

And now for something completely different, a lie to avoid prosecution

If God can't help you win a case with killing people, who can? Ah, blaming God ... it's great because many people are too timid to approach the subject that the accused is outright evil. Well, you see if you state that God commanded you to kill them, then any jury member who disagrees is either a heretic or evil him/herself. Peer pressure works and the jury will find this person not guilty by reason of mental defect.

Now, this then means that they either believe that she believes God told her to kill or that she is making it up. Strange, God commanding people to kill. A more interesting point is: if a juror doesn't believe in God, then surely she couldn't have heard the voice. If the juror believes in God, then surely God would not command to kill. So, if the woman believes in God, then she knows not to kill, as that is not God's way. The woman has no case, but sadly juries are not that bright.

After the sobs and tears and her fears and hopes, it comes down to the fact that she pitched her children naked off a bridge knowing that she was going to do it and that they could not swim. She removed their clothes, even on a six year old, who might defy her on this issue, as at that age one would wonder "why Mommy would want me naked".

If the God defense doesn't work, I wouldn't be surprised if the lawyer played a wild card -- post pardem depression. While this is a true affliction and that the degree of its effect on a woman is not always predictible, nor the duration of it, it would be "a mulligan" for court proceedings. I would call foul and bat the lawyer out of the park.

I again mention that those lawyers pursuing this inanity plea should be required to board and feed the accused until the conclusion of the trial. Should the accused, for whatever reason, be remanded to state custody, then too would be the lawyer. I think that would just about put an end to the insanity plea. Especially the "temporary insanity" plea, which is generally "super angry" defense. Yeah, I should be able to sue Craftsman for making the hammer to great that when I got super angry, I hit my own hand. I was suffering under temporary insanity, so I cannpt be held accountable for my actions.

School would have been so much simpler with this defense. Sorry, the homework was too long and boring, so I lapsed into temporary insanity and spit on it and submitted it anyway. My friend here didn't do it at all, but falls under the same guidelines of zero accountability due to emotional distress of having to do it, instead of surfing on the internet and chatting and text messaging.

crazy little thing called persona

While most entertains stand out as one-of-a-kind (thankfully more often than not), some have striking similarities to other entertainers. 99 percent of people will disagree with me, but in some very minor way in appearance and more in personality two notable persons I think share a 15-minutes of fame presently (a third passed away).

I would package three famous persons into a discernable trio: Emeril Lagasse, Steve Irwin, President G. W. Bush. All three are not whom I would consider brain stars, but are charismatic on a different level. Their childish looks and goofiness can capture your attention, though breaking the spell you see that they are making it up as they go along. Emeril shows that "planning" and experience don't often show themselves around him. Steve, though dedicating much of his money to projects (requiring some planning) really wasn't a "planner". When you dive on a crock, sometimes forgetting a rope -- you act and think later. President Bush, while entertaining to some, I think falls into this category.

President Bush has good speech writers, but falters when talking "off the cuff", for planning isn't really what is demonstrated. He fumbles through, toys with language, but startles you "bam" with some real, concrete phrases and ideas. Generally though, you're left with an impression of, "goofy as President".

Bill Clinton, in contrast, had an allure of realism by being professional outside with a wry sense of humor. His charisma and appearance most matches Robert Kennedy, who was reportedly also a philanderer. Their America first promises were heard well with the American people, meanwhile they were plotting for other ideals. Clinton brought his own disgrace upon himself as had most of the Kennedy line. Ted Kennedy's stongest links to them are powerlust and lying in the face of fact.

Between Bush, Emeril, and Irwin, clearly Bush is the most stable and more likely to live the longest. Emeril has three ex-wives and of a ego-centrical destructive nature that might ultimately put him further away from his charisma. Steve was a Darwin Award waiting to happen, though his demise was actually quite sad. President Bush's charisma won't be enough to do much with a recently-elected, bitter-outsider congress and senate. I think his personality will only backfire hiding his "plucky duck" charisma, not to be seen until after his term is finished.

Mo' money blues

Inmates will get better mental health. That is great, considering non-criminals are not getting the help they need. So, my money is being sent to criminals' health and not for the health and welfare of non-criminals. That is a criminal act!

picture it

Locally, a man died in an accident. The details are unimportant, but was is interesting is that a father of 2 (and one on the way), which should be around three years, had a photo in the paper remembering him. The photo was from a wedding photo. My tip to families ... take photos. Having to put up a meaningful picture, like a wedding photo, would likely hurt more. The pain is already there; the widow will now be a single mom with three children experiencing Thanksgiving and Christmas sans husband. The story included a long-winded tale of how he was a Christian. I'm not sure how a man few knew warrented such an indepth article. If only we were all so lucky.

Anyway, keep photos updated.

Mt. Trouble from ant hill

A company tried to kindly say that they don't work with homosexuals. In response, the couple forwarded the email to others. That's right, that the word go out that you are dissatisfied with a company, good call. The problem then is the crap you get with polygenic emails.

I would like those responsible for threatening the family to be jailed. Sodomy threats ... nice. Way to make inroads to acceptance and tolerance. Yeah, that'll help. The family that decided against an opportunity because they chose not to contract with homosexuals, should knowingly lose some business. It is not understandable to have threats. A family that doesn't work with homosexuals is threatened with aberant sexual practices. Isn't that another reason why homosexuals are distrusted and hated?

Boy, what a mess!

I agree that you should lose business if you don't work with select groups of people. I also agree that those groups should ally with each other and not do business with that business. I also agree that people should know of that policy. The rape threats really should peeve the homosexuals, not the family who declined service. This really underscores why homosexuals are a "threat" (perceived) to people. While the gay couple probably didn't threaten the family, certainly any reasonable person could narrowly and phobically directly link homosexuality to rape.

This justifies the hate and fear of the business owners and those in opposition to homosexuals. To the rape threateners, homosexual-haters salute you, for you have done something that they could not -- link rape to homosexuality. Nice going, idiots!

So, I guess I'll have to throw another hamster in the wheel to get more power to the blogger. "Publish Post" yields, "try again". What, is there line noise in the digital conneciton?

I publish and it fails [repeat steps]

Finally, I get to my page and find several duplicate entries after it said it couldn't publsh them.

I about give up on this.

No sense plus no sense equals no sense

You've played the game with the lack of flowing story, now watch the movie. What the movie and game were lacking were pages. So, a girl is tormented by others, called a witch, persecuted and "cleansed" by fire. She miraculously survived, but had a powerful hate that extended beyond her completely incinerated body.

So, a gong sounds the onset of the hellish dreams broght onto the people of the town. Well, here's where the story is glueless (not sticking together). What is the gong? Why are there phases between the three realities? Why is there a doppleganger outside of the state with an adoptive family? I stop here, because the questions could go on forever.

The sound was good, as I liked the really eerie music and sounds from the game. A few of the images were interesting. Overall, this post-it note story ranks as stink. There was one writer with many partial ideas, none of which were realated to the others. That didn't stop the writer from putting them end to end yielding nothing, but confusion.

Confused? You won't be after the next episode of Soap. Well, I think that the creator might call it quits on the movie (s) that he could put together.

Without a doubt, avoid this movie, though it really inspired none to see it. It doesn't get any stars. It doesn't get any numbers from me. I could have awarded something had it ever finished, but an ending was lacking. The father thrown in for "good measure" was a sub-plot that should have been removed. His role was only in "investigating the past", which was summarized at the end by the girl.

The 50's film recap of life for the girl -- interesting had it been in another movie, but not this one. Good idea, bad placement.

Too-long Kong

King Kong extended? What the heck? Yeah, that movie was way too short. I never felt bored or insulted or ... no, I felt brilliant in contrast to that movie, as well as completely bored. Making it longer won't make it better. When you order topsoil, you don't anticpiate manure in its place. To me, that's what you got with King Kong. Don't make this thing longer.

Blecht!

transfiguration

I suggest that all Steve Buscemi roles and Tom Cruise be completely reversed. While Steve can act, Tom cannot. I've been thinking about it a long while and like my idea, though they would have to write some more for Steve's "new" roles. While Steve was good in Fargo, I think seeing Tom Cruise beaten and shot would do my heart good. This being the case, then Steve could earn the high dollar figure for movies as does Tom -- who is as talented as about Kevin Costner.

Well, Kevin is in a league of his own, excelling well beyond stunted speech on to failing to convince. Steve, wirey and wiley I think could pull off Mission Impossible and would bring real character to roles Tom has played. Steve had a small role in Island (2005), but included some of his caustic humor, wrong place-wrong time scenes with typical humor.

I recant the role reversal, as Resevoir Dogs with Cruise would be like broccoli bites in w "value meal" as a fast food restaurant.

Island

It wasn't bad, just long. It was a blend of different ideas from other sources. An aside here; Ewan McGreggor was once considered for 007, but it didn't pan out. In this movie, he starred with Sean Bean who played 005 who Bond thought was killed in Goldeneye.

It opens a moral and ethical question regarding clones and souls. It is probably worth seeing once.

exercising a left (er, I mean a right)

I'll start with "RATS!" as stated by Charlie Brown so many times.  The machines this district use are the infamous "susceptible" electronic ones.  That either means there will be landslides or challenges everywhere.

There was a hopeful candidate out at the steps greeting people as they entered, hoping for one last bite at votes.

what tomorrow will bring

"Oh, Lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way", in an acceptance speech by an elected official.  My rival ran a mudslinging, diabolical campaign slandering me, but I concede to him victory in this election.

Crap!  Politically, bullying works.  That's just not right.  I guess the "nerds" in school who were bullied do it in their adult years to each other as politicians.

The results will look like morse code or binary (for the most part)
RRDDRDRDDR ... with an L, G, and W (write in) mixed in for color.

Taco Yell

Fast food, well ... food anyway. The wait was much akin to an amusement park. MR and I waited ten minutes for food. What were they doing? Taco Bell, while the food was okay, the wait was terrible. They had a long ling in drive up, then when I was looking, they had a guy in the kitchen prep area pushing a broom. I think that man could have been busy stuffing tacos for orders.

The kicker was the sprinkler system being set off by a flamer. He smelt of cigarettes, incence, and perfume. Elderberries would have been better.

Guess who's coming to dinner

Hmm, where could they be? I saw food, er, I mean birds a moment ago.

They aren't over there, behind me. Hmmm.

Oh, there he is! I'll have a steak and one whole chicken. Thanks.

While the shots were taken through a glass door -- hence the imperfection, it was a nice chance to catch this one waiting and watching. There are at least four of these locally (within a half to whole mile) of here, with lots of hunting grounds. Feeding birds doesn't discourage this one's arrival. Within seconds of its departure, squirrels resumed eating.

Mayor:

Peters will run for mayor
By Kathleen Quilligan
kquilligan@news-sentinel.com

Allen County Commissioner Nelson Peters will run for mayor in 2007.
Peters, a Republican, said today he will formally announce his decision Nov. 16 at a luncheon at the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce.
Peters formed a committee to explore the possibility of his mayoral candidacy Oct. 12, when he said he wanted to see what financial and volunteer support he could gather.
Since forming the committee, he said he has gained a greater understanding of the issues affecting Fort Wayne government to help him put together a platform.
“We’ve gotten a number of people interested and excited,” Peters said.
Local architect Matt Kelty, also a Republican, announced Oct. 9 his intent to run for mayor. With two Republican candidates, the nominee will be decided in the primary election.
.....
So, he formed a committe, spending money, to evaluate whether he should run. He shouldn't if he has to spend money on making that decision.

Gov Daniels

"I can't wait to get started," he said.

I agreed. I can't wait for him to get started on something either. Do something! If he impliments full-day kindergarten, that would be nice, but from what I can see and read ... he talks about things, plans things, writes things, but when it comes to doing -- well, I don't see it.

I also assume that he doesn't care for what Indiana might want or need, for in more of the larger projects he has done, a whirlwind of opposition has surrounded his ideas and decisions. I could bitch about Mitch, but instead I'll do what he does ... wait. It's not like I have a choice, he wasn't up for election and I didn't vote for him in the last election.

Cindy Sheehan profile

Alright, so her son died serving our country, done. She even got a chance to talk with President Bush, a rarity for sure. Now, she's championing the anti-war cause? She's a leader ... huh, I don't think so. "Somebody must have made her do it." + The real crooks here are those who found her and are using her as a mascot. She really needs therapy, not because of her perpetual pestering of the government, but rather that she probably never got a chance to :move on" after a period of mourning. Those looking for a face to go with their position chose her. Looking at it from an outsider's POV, I see that she's ineffective, irrational, had her bite of the apple and should phase out of that.

Petitioning and calling for a change, is great. I salute protesting, though this group has some problems. I think littering the White House lawn is wrong. While the call to get out of Iraq is growing stronger, I doubt that this group's numbers are increasing. They aren't quite the lunatic fringe, but aren't the sharpest tools either.

Regarding Cindy, well, I think this poor womoan should seek therapy, as she is still mourning and acting out in a desperate measure to escape the pain. I think once she accepts it, she might continue to work on getting out of Iraq, but in a different manner.

+Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Roger laments on Jessica playing patty-cake with Marvin Acme; "ppppplllleasssse"

irony in motion

Dan Baldwin, "Daniel" to some, has had a difficult year with driving insanely crashing into parked cars, cocaine (for which he was not charged) and now grand theft auto.  What's really funny, as pointed out by the Associated Press is that he starred in, "Car 54, Where Are You?"  How can you get funnier than that?

I believe he was found singing Lenard Skynard's ""Life's been good to me so far..."

Judge has simple plan

Custody is awarded to neither party, as both are stupid an incompetent. Sharing a 6-piece chicken nugget pack of brains, Federline and Britney file for sole custody of tragically doomed children unless judge orders arbitration between the two to find a suitable third party to raise their children.

It was once speculated that with some training, the couple might obtain a full "value meal", but recent events make this strongly unlikely. With Federline, a no-brainer punk, whose idiocy is matched only with his aversion to talent, seeking custody because his mama said so, Britney has other reasons. While being pregnant-chunky hasn't helped her, as well as dropping her child at least once, her attorney encourages her to seek sole custody for public relations sake. Reportedly knowing that she has a difficult time distinguishing between the children's crying, her crying and Federline's crying; her attorney has nonetheless sought sole custody for Spears.

Spears' attorney also wishes to quash Federline's attorney's use of, "Oops, I did it again" from any court document, citing the potential of associating it with her carelessness and general air-head apparent. He is also seeking to show Federline's inability to dress himself, pass any written exam, and his inability to pass drug screening. More to the point as being a poor "father (snicker) figure", he has no potential for employment, instead he would contentiously soak up the good yeild on Spears' fame and fortune. A "vroom, vroom" enthusaist, Federline plans to market his "nation de arte vrooms". After speaking with his English-speaking attorney, it was understood that Federline has plans for new "sophisticated" vehicles including cars, trucks and 'cycles'+ that all must go "vroom, vroom" (with the aid of a sound system).

Spears' has requested, much to the sickening of her attorney that Mattel pay her millions of dollars for falsely marketing that "cheap ho who been cheatin' and hatin' on her" in reference to Barbie (TM). She also wishes to receive "cash" for every time her doorbell rings, with the tones similar to one of her songs. As they sound much the same, her attorney could not narrow it down to a specific song. She has also requested that all children named Britney around the time of her Mickey Mouse fame and onward pay her royalties for using her name.

After some hard deliberation, he has ordered both Spears and Federline into the circus to perform various acts as prescribed by the ring master. After a federal review, it seems very likely that this will stand in court as a fair judgment. For the sake of the children, they have been given over to an Ohio couple that wishes to remain annonymous. The couple has ackowledged that they don't listen to Spears' music and was unaware that she or Fenderline were in the "talent" industry.

+ "cycles" was an agreed upon term after negotiating with Federline that "two-wheelie things -- fast ones", "hoggies", "big wheels", and "supra fastest vroom vrooms" were summarily dismissed by his attorney.

well, there you have it, for now

I suspected that Virginia counting was counting take about 3 years in and of itself, but supposedly the democrat won, making the Senate the leaning power of peezdoff. Now more than ever, the house and senate will be a Konami game, "Punch Out":

Body blow, body blow, right, right, body blow [ding, ding, ding]
left, right, left, right, left, right, uppercut, body blow, left, right

How many rounds are there? The game is endless, get my point?

This brings us to the 2008 contest of money, baggage, lies, and conveniences. Rumsfeld is leaving and Bush will be exiting in 2008 later to be called unforgiven (I thought "whipping boy done wrong"), unlike Clinton who came out of swimming in his own fecal matter, still okay with only minor bruises.

What I used to think was that it would be McCain vs Clinton, but that isn't certain, as there are other hopefuls that have potential. With Clinton running, the Republicans will have an interesting play come game time. In one direction, they could call their helpers and ensure that she doesn't get the nomination for the party or ensure it knowing that people don't want a second round of that. No, thanks! I'm driving.

The polls should be even fatter next round as either people will try desperately to keep the balance or the parties will tear each other apart and again the senate and house will be lopsided, even more than it is now. I do hope with this things as they are that people do seek knowledge from reading rather than from media blowhards making windy tales (usually posterior external sphynter msucle born). Perhaps then people will vote, since they might be aggitated and peeved that things "ain't goin' right".

I know that MR predicts high potential for Liberman, while I hope that McCain (whom I wanted after Clinton) gets the nomination and wins. I think we'all loose if dem Arkansas folks get in dere again. That would give Bill more access to rooms where he shouldn't be. He'll then have a book, "My Life Continues" with limo exploits and other unmentionable.

I did listen to the audio book for sound bite purposes, but cancelled that project. I got through few chapters, but ended it. As he wasn't truthful in office, it's hard to know what in the book was factual. If true, his mother not tolerating racism in her house, was a nice bit of trivia that does tend to form a person's thinking. Something people tend to forget is that writing the book then reading it himself was not only ego-boosting, but ego masturbatory, in that he could stroke off to the number of hours he worked on it and that others heard his tale.

His is an ego enlarged with masturbatory dreams of not only sex, but power and control; especially in duping people with lies and using charisma that woos the feint of intelligence or the quickly awestruck.

Congressional, Senatorial mantra

Before you accuse me ... no matter how the senate comes out, 50-50, left, right, people there will be casting stones then citing scripture when it's someone else's turn. In lighter news, CSPAN might have more colorful metaphors and seem more like prime time soaps and shows than like at any other time.

Hey, this Saturday Night Live show is funny again! Oh, no ... it's the real CSPAN. I thought it was Chevy Chase doing Gerald Ford again or Chris Farley, not real representatives and senators acting like the chimps in commercials. Crud! Oh, well; back to the old drawing board.

The hated

There were 164 votes cast. You read that right, 164, representing a very small district or block. Now, the winner was a dead woman on the ballot. Her opponent must be hated, I presume. That's like going to Wal-Mart and asking everyone to vote for either the smiley face or Bob in Health & Beauty. Sorry, Bob, Smiley won. Ouch!

lying in wait

The Senate waits with bated breath on the final tally on Virginia and Montana. I think Montana is less backwoods than Virginia, certainly less densely populated. Both sides at the end will mumble under their breath, "Well, if these numbers are right ... this deal looks pretty sweet."

Lab retrievers

Indiana health inspectors lose jobs for snackin' and slackin' on the job. Gee, when you let us use these cars, I thought for sure we could do Canadian trips in them. Every year I was going to Bristish Columbia, but now ... I can't. It helped that Hoosiers were footing the fuel bill.

Unreasonable use of vehicle for non-work related travel and tracked time spent in restaurants led to dismissal of persons. What surprised me is that whe the newspaper carried the story of investigation, why the head didn't just resign then. No, he waited it out and was summarily fired. The state declined to take the day-later resignation. Go figure. The others were put on suspension (administrative leave) then fired.

I suppose there will be openings now, right?

GPS installed on cars helped the government finalize their decision to find "critical errors" in the labeling area. Labeling being the use of vehicle for work use.

defeats?

Oh, come on ... Fries for sheriff defeats Tavino? "Fries fries Tavino", now there's a headline!

Voting ... I'll have Fries with that. Okay, here's I'll announce that I did vote for Fries and he won. I felt that Tavino had some pretty flakey ideas which were countered by Fries better ideas. Neither one was perfect, but Fries looked better; Smith could catch up (ketsup). For a microcosism Matt Schomberg greeted people at the door to his districts voting. He had years in, but it was to no avail. Sadly, he lost the election. For him too, I voted.

For another seat, I voted for Pat Love, for her years of experience meant more to me than that of her opponent. Either one was good, but I wondered how, with such poor-paying position, Lopshire got the funds for such costly signs. Lopshire Flowers perhaps? Neither candidate had a degree, but were and are handling money (assessor).

win, lose, or draw

This time, I got them all. Some of the people for whom I voted won. Some of the people lost. Others were kept or replaced by a clone -- so there was a draw. It was, however, a high turnout rate at the polls, which is very good. Now, what we need is true informing so that voters are informed and not ignorant when casting votes. I can only hope.

no orcs

The way some people write it, you might picture a scene from Lord of the Rings with humans struggling to survive against awesome odds. The Democrats have laid siege and are winning the battle for the House of Representatives. The Senate is struggling with its own battle, but seems to be prevailing. That's what sickens me!

Political parties at war? WTH? Aren't they suppose to be persons we elect, to do the right things for America? Aren't they supposed to REPRESENT those who elected them? Warfare is just sensationalism. What a crock! I have donated money to causes. How much money have I donated to political parties in my life ... easy, $0.00. I even am happy to not check the $3 to political campaign box on my IRS return.

If they want to see battle, murder, travel to Iraq, many parts of Africa, prison, Guatemala, Venezuela, Columbia. There's war; that's real. This notion of political war means that money raised to do good, is wasted on political ads and negativity. Sure, it's their money to waste, but is it always only their money and not mine? If others check the $3 1040 box that "doesn't affect [my] return", from where does the money come? You have to wonder.
What I would like is an honest debate between would be candidates and hard, explained stances on issues. I think some of these schmucks might answer with, "because I was told to say I stand this direction on this issue." If a stance is purely emotionally based, I'd like to know. That, then ... is an irrational person who lets passion guide rather than allow reason to accompany the process.
I think from here, logic cast away, is the root of "battle", "war", "seize", "conquor", all in the name of politics? Apparently these lawyers forgot most of their law classes in that "senate" is based on Roman senate, where select persons represented the people in improving life for Romans. The senate were not warriors, but scholars. I think we too often have no scholars to elect, and instead have gladiators or guards (no generals) to elect to positions. There we have passionate illogic, bloodlust, hunger for power.
You would also think that some parties have had equatorial Africa experience in their complaints of power famine. Oh ... so hungry for power. If only there were a way to go on the air to get people to give me power. Wait ... there is, nasty little political ads. You don't have Struthers doing it, but still ... this "impassioned" person comes on to "tell me, how white my [representives] can be, but he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't [agree on the issues as me]". "I can't get no ... satisfaction."+ So, then you have power obesity on the opposite end, who are slower, unhealthy in a different way -- people you'd rather not see at a buffet.
I might be a moderate or middle-roader, but the extremists (think "fundamental" or neuvo "extremist" muslim, a term now very commonly used) don't often help other than show where the line has clearly been crossed. These are the people who are warriors. They suppress and repress logic in favor of zealousness in some direction -- often not of their own design. I don't credit them with a high level of intelligence factoring; meaning that they favor reaction as opposed to thinking and reasoning. They are the elected drama queens, as it were, not noted for brilliance, despite however intelligent they might be.

Dolphin Embasador captured

For generations, dolphins have been trying to develop legs to walk among the bipeds who have fudged up the water. In a drastic attempt to negotiate with the humans, they dolphins have sent their ambassador, only to have him caught with people speculating that he has "old genes". Damn! What will those fools think next?

Humans, barely able to speak to each other, could hardly tell that the ambassador was repeatedly communicating with them. In the end, he was "squeaking" as the humans call it, rather coarse language regarding being held upside-down out of water. Apparently humans have forgotten they are heavier out of water.

Suffice to say, talks between the species never took place. Dolphins are cursed the retarded humans and have blanketedly called off any attempt to talk with them for some time. Dolphins have not taken to pushing themselves toward oil on dares, the toxins bringing them to newer levels of consciousness.

Ian Kerner, Ph D, has written an attempted humor book on dating using acronyms. I do wonder about the author as he tends to cast the guys in the sinister role. Granted, not all of the relationships are terrible, some are quite retrievable, others were doomed at the start.

If you have time, can look beyond the cartoonish humor, and are interested is "might be us (me)" theories, this might be worth a quick read. I would not recommend this book as a weapon, as in those seeking reasons to quit their relationship. My advice there is -- if the problems can be either accepted or changed, then there you go. If not, then away you go; simple.

Here, I ask what is Johnny Depp doing to poor Santa (Dave). I always thought Depp might be a butt pirate, perhaps this proves it!

on hands and knees

Yesterday, I did the old seasonal thing of gutter clearing. I do this twice a year and usually for a neighbor or two as well. I am either an old man now, or that is more work than I remember. Up and down on the knees step, shift, step shift, pull. The leaves in the neighbor's gutters were dry. Sadly, mine were wet. On both roofs I got the added "benefit" of raccoon and oppossum poop. Gee, thanks, it's what I always wanted.

Either they had a nature call or they were claiming territory. I think both are equally likely. Anyway, I'm sure the other neighbor, whose gutters I probably need to get will have tokens in there as well. Gross. Thanks, but no thanks.

A D D does not add up to stupid

I mentioned a little while ago to my family about a lovable fictional character who has severe ADD. Sadly, this was taken as a slam and equated with stupidity. My neice in that family has been "diagnosed" with ADD and is getting some treatment. Sad to write that she acted as if it were a death sentence. I don't know if she has that severe of ADD and doubt really that she has it, but rather she gets thoughtful. If interested, she'll focus on something -- she's a child, that what they do. Some people in the medical field might suggest that this is a sign of ADD. That might be so, but it's also a typical response of a child.

I am not a proponent of overly medicating people. Some people need medicine and some people do well with medicine. I think, however it is too readily dispensed to be legitimate. I wonder about the 8 year olds taking ritalin now, how they will be as adults.

I find it rather strange or unreal that in this day and age, especially when kids are generally loaded with drugs at younger and younger ages, why the label of ADD was so painful to her. ADD and ADHD are fairly common labels (another thing I don't like -- labels) to conditions. Too often, they are ADD [name here] or ADHD [name here], rather than Felicity+ or Philip +.

There is a lot more to behavior than aberant (which really appears to be common) brain chemistry. People act because of a lot of reasons; experience, immaturity, allergies, chemical reactions, unwitnessed stimuli, pathological onset (such as brainwashing, or overdisciplining), maturity, and yes brain chemistry anomalies. I believe too often that the last item is first assumed. That does no one any good when the others are also eliminated.

ADD doesn't add up to stupid nor is it a tragic disease. It is a treatable condition that in some cases with some people in certain circumstances, really is a problem. Without a doubt there are people who really do better on medication. To my knowledge, no one has died attributably to ADD. It isn't a death sentence and isn't a disease. I wish my neice would not take it as such. Still, I feel at fault for not better stating myself about the humor of the fictional character -- a caricature of an idea.

+ each having some treatable condition for which they are receiving treatment.

Lenny Kravitz base

I keep getting call hangups today. I beleive it highly likely it is, "Are you votin' my way?"

"All I've gotta, gotta know, is ... are you votin' my way?"

What kind of job?

Your**uckingjob!

Well, what I read at first got my attention. I didn't apply, but thought, well ... if you have an evil mind, easily dismiss things, you got a completely different assumption of this.

Bad calls

I see an open door and want to paint it black. No schooling any more, I want to turn it black.

Sadly, this article, giving little info paints a black (here, I mean dismal) picture of the NAACP in a sour attempt to colorize IUPUI with lawsuits.

Lawsuits regarding discrimination generally do well, unless the defense has a lot of witnesses. While I don't know whether the university is or isn't colorful enough, you can't and should sue someone into hiring people who aren't seeking the position. Also, buildings get torn down for a number of reasons. This should hardly be a case of -- you did it on purpose because the founder was black. Moreover, "outlandish" does describe quite rightly, the demand for a new cultural center made from student fund.

That's a mess, I'm not stepping near it.

For namesake?

Richard Smiley, 37 Charge: Dealing cocaine.

Why is he always smiling ... oh, now I get it!

add 'em up

Indiana law review citing a case of a con man who conned elderly people out of their money who received D felony convictions. The problem being is that since they were class D felony convictions, he gets a lighter sentence. There are now people considering ammending the law to redefine the arbitary value of $100, 000 as the maximum dollar figure for class D felony.

Simply, I suggest you frag 'em, but in leiu of that, I offer then, the felony to be considered then as the total value of the thefts combined, perhaps also allotting financial hardship due to theft; such as medical issues stemming from theft.

While the victims did hand over the money, willingly, it is still theft as it was based on a lie (fraud).

I think perhaps another penalty, if not offered, is lifetime community service. Those sentenced could, for the rest of their lives, clean highways or the like.

Thankfully, it was a secret

The US played War Games in 1999 and found that the Iraq war was a possibility. This peeves me for two reasons. I really like the "timely" manner in which this was diseminated to the public and the government. I also find that "we knew" is generally an, "I told you so (nee-ner nee-ner nee-ner)" or that someone looked at results and found that they could say that their predictions among millions were right. Conspiracy theorists find success with this because who is to then challenge them without having a long-winded and unnecessary debate.

444 days

And these butt-munches want American tourists? F 'em! I'm old enough that this was real for me -- hostages held for 444 days. Are there reports that they got fat like Guantanamo Bay detainees, no. They were treated terribly. They weren't POW's for they weren't military.

Iran,

America has shown you that "we are untrustworthy". I can safe unabashedly, that you too have shown no capacity for reason or rationale. If you ever want America off your back in out of your backyard, stop chanting, "Death to America". Better still, learn to communicate. Death chants aren't communication. Including death chants in "daily prayer" isn't peace or prayer or love, it's hate. You practice and adore hate, demonstrated by this.

Perhaps the strategy for America should be to hold Iran's government hostage for 444 days, mistreat it, and send it on it's way into obscurity. Can anyone name one survivor of the hostage taking? Nope, didn't think so.

Saddam sentenced

To be hung by his skin until dead ... uh, I mean, hung by orifaces until dead, oh, wait.

He's sentenced to die by hanging. He's eligible for appeal six months after the sentence is carried out in full view of anyone wishing to watch on Al-Jazeirez, which will continually contend that it is a Saddam double being executed.

Then, the world was a better place.
